If you want I have a bunch of pulsing Xenia too. I also have green and silver star polyps . Let me know, if you are going to Brian's on the 30th I can bring them.

Thanks! Disney is quite the well run ship, I remember my last visit 33 years ago. Immaculate grounds, attention to detail and staff that can move several hundred people in a matter of minutes. A lot of business models could benefit from them cause the repeat customer load is quite high...
I have found keeping my all, calcium and mag in an ideal range has helped a lot. John, I too have 3 purple bonsai, two have improved color with light and flow. These 2 are glued to the side of my return pump close to the top which gets lots of light and flow. The one on the rock is fine just dull.
Thanks John, I hope so. Some of the best plans on paper fail in the field. Worst case scenario, I get to start an upgrade tale of the tank thread earlier. Sorry for all the typos....baby strapped to the chest makes it hard to type on the pad.
Well, tomorrow shall be interesting. We leave with the family and in-laws for Disney and I have the neighbor in charge of the tank. I have my 2 part dose down pat at 40 ml of each daily. Seems like a lot but the sps are growing well and I'm sure consuming it as I see no precipitation. I have it...
I picked one up at the Somerville Petco this weekend. Put him in my daughters 12 gal nano. I literally placed it on a rock ant it parked it there. Mine is 3" in diameter. I also have 3 small ones that were hitch hikers on a frag from ocean gallery2. They are a nice green and white variety. If I...
I agree that it is cyano. I have it too. Only bubbles when there is light. Was much worse a few weeks ago, but since I have decreased feeding, removed a bunch of macro algae, and kept my water parameters in check(alk, calc, magnesium) is has decreased greatly.
The three tests George notes are critical(Mg,alk, calcium).Water changes can help but ain't enough as corals grow. Since I have been more consistent in checking these weekly my corals have great color, cyano issue has dropped. This is the best thing I have done since setting up my 55 gal tank...
Not sure of the size. I do know they have a longer unit. Not the one I have, it's roughly the same size as the Chinese fixtures people have gotten. Came with 90 optics and the colors really do make the corals pop. If I upgrade I should still be fine for just the 2 units.
