    feather duster splitting it's tube

The sign your feather duster is a goner is when it leaves its tube. Loosing the crown can be caused by stress, but 9 times out of 10 it will just grow it back. My one feather duster is on its 4th crown. I would just watch the tube, if he leaves then you should be concerned.

March Meeting - Saturday the 28th in Little Silver, NJ

Is there any etiquette for bringing frgs for the raffle? We have one we want to get rid of and would rather see it in a good home.

Clam dead, Scallop Dead !!! ???

A harlequin shrimp only eats the tube feet off of starfish so I don't think that is your culprit. Both clams and scallops are very sensitive to water quality so check your parameters. How old was your tank that you put them in? They usually suggest waiting 6-8 months before putting a clam in a...

    Something attacking our starfish

In that picture it is still alive. My fiancee has kept stars for about 10 years and very sucessfully, so this is a new development for us. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Thank you for the responses Hawkeye, we will just have to see. We hate losing fish/inverts especially if it could have been avoided.

    Something attacking our starfish

The first star was attacked before the hawkfish was added, so it could be him it may not be. We have seen is eat in the past, I was not aware that it could just disintegrate but you learn something new everyday.

    Something attacking our starfish

This is the second time one of our starfish has shown up with damage like this. The tanks has 2 clowns, a flame angel and a hawkfish. The inverts are 2 stars, 2 cleaner shrimp and a strawberry crab. My fiancee thought one day she saw a mantis shrimp in the tank but it was not confirmed nor has...

Did I waste my money on a Koralia nano?

We are currently cycling a 30 gallon with 2 Korlia 2s. They provide plenty of flow and we are very happy with them. We have a nano on our 12 gallon just to provide some flow but that is probably where they max out.

    carbon

I change carbon out monthly in my 12 gallon, and chemi pure about every other month. The chemi pure really helps pulling nitrates out of the water and reduces the algae.

Ocean Gallery II, North Plainfield, NJ

Went here for the first time on Sunday and was very impressed with the whole experience. We were able to pick up some corals and a new cherub angel fish along with some fish foods that are not carried around us. The staff was very helpful and made the whole experience very easy. You can spend an...

    Picasso hosted our BT

Thank god I grabbed those pics, we woke up the next morning and the anem has moved to the back of the tank (of course where we can't see him and near the filter intake). The clowns not go to where he was and not where he is, so this process could start all over again. The good news is that the...

    Picasso hosted our BT

It happened so suddenly we were both shocked and I just grabbed my cellphone. I would have loved to wash it down, but every time we move towards the tank they think they are getting fed and shoot up to the top of the tank. So we were lucky even to get those. Plus the salt drip adds ambiance to...
