    So I shut my tank off to do something and when I turned it back on, my skimmer level was really low(as if its still breaking in) and its been like that for about a day and still isn't foaming. I messed with it a little with opening the valve and whatnot. Its just weird bc before I turned it off...

    Got my GFO back online. Cut back some of my hard plumbing and put some flex hose in to prevent tons of bubbles and to make more room for me to get to my skimmer.

    How often does everyone dump out there collection cups? I'm just curious, with my reef octopus I had emptied it every week and a half and that was at halfway in the cup. Obviously with my new one I'm not sure yet as its only 2 days old and just started foaming but its still white foam.

    +1. I love my dc9000 already and I've only had it for 2 days. I've had wp25s and wp40s, they're good as long as you clean em every couple months

    No the pad I have underneath is a sound dampening pad. Its not needed bc of sound, but just so the pump isn't floating in the water lol

    Well, not sure if its bc its a new setup or what but my glass is getting algaed up pretty good as well as the whole frag rack. Looks disgusting.

    +1 that's what I was thinking. On my tank, I have a durso style setup without the option to move them up or down. But there's tubes in the tops of each one. You were over yesterday, you heard how quiet mine was. I would imagine it would do the same for yours

    :) yeah I'm glad I got em, I love em both so far. Its only been about an hour or so since I hooked up the skimmer.
