Just saw this post and agree with everyone, Do Not Reuse the sand. I did this and only took some of the sand and had nothing but problems for at least a year.

Yes I run GFO, dose vinegar and have a fuge. I was feeding one gel pack daily sporadically throughout the day for a few months.

I have heard that peroxide and SPS don't mix well. On the other hand there are people that use it with no issues with SPS. Use caution when dosing.

Rich, I wet the socks in the sink and rinse them out. I also turn them inside out to get any crap out and rinse again. Then toss them all in the washer.

I have the 12 inch felt socks with plastic rings and never had a problem with them breaking. I even throw them in the dryer with a no heat setting with no issues.

I agree, have the same light. I went with 2 blue+,purple+ and 14k. The corals pop and cooler looking with just the blues on.

I am wondering if I have to many rocks in my tank. My theory is that they might be tightly packed causing detritus to build up therefore having high Nitrates. That being said I was going to pull the two worst HA rocks out and cook them. Now am wonder if I should remove a few more. Any thoughts...
