Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Welcome to the club. There are different ways people have set theirs up. I suggest searching through the DIY forum and see what others did. Find some you like and ask questions then pick the one that best fits your situation and go for it.

I discovered what is casuing high nitrates in my tank(40ppm). Even though the sand bed is shallow 1/4 inch approximately. I did a water change and decide to clean the sand as one spot seemed dirty. The amount of dirt in there was gross the water was actually brown in the bucket, I changed about...
I have about 6 heads of Yellow polyps if anyone is interested. Below is some information about them:
Scientific Name: Parazoanthus gracilis

I did that also. But I left some babies in help feed the other larger fish. Some babies swam in the nems and reduced my feedings there. Eventually, the large fish caught on and harassed the female and male. Eventually thet died and I never bothered again.
Sam,
Thanks for the fish yellow and hippo tang. They seem to be doing great.

I have seen the other yellow tang and lamark both are really nice, to bad I don't have my upgrade yet.
Currently, I have 2 skimmers. A Berlin Classic and will have to check their website. The other has a label and it says Aquatic Life Systems. It is taller than the Berlin and has a venturi connector. The website is shutdown and get any info their. I did a bit of surfing with minimal results.
Mike, been there already. It another chain store. Just some fresh water fish, birds, a few reptiles and small animals.
Some items are good prices and some not.
Pets Plus in Hazlet will be closing their doors after 30 years. No exact date yet.
Sad to see more mom & pop stores shutting down. Roger, father and son, are good guys.
I agree. Simple is best. I just can't get the nitrates to go under 20ppm and nothing grows. I started dosing kalk and see a growth on coraline algae. I figured vodka dosing would help elimenate the nitrates. It's cheaper than those sponges which I really don't think work anyway.
Bob,
That is what I did for some. But I took a rock out because it had way to many and used a screw driver to pluck them off and then rinsed the rock off. The crab doesn't do **** with the bubbles.
My question really is what causes it? High nitrates or whatever.
