While we wait for this storm to come/pass...how about some inspiration? 965 DT

Here's a big tank I just came across (it's been up since 2009 - so i'm just slow to view it I guess). Just think if we had to supply a backup generator for this beast! Here's the (sketchit?) display tank (located in Thailand) After the build: sure would be nice to have that kind of...

    Dave’s 90g learning-curve glass room experiment

ok we're talking the same then. I just don't get the lots being so far away compared to say when you drive to the Mall, or a big box store like walmart/target etc. Look at the Liberty Science center - besides the handicapped spots, the regular spots are just a little bit further away from nice...

    Cheato

This is the chaeto I harvested today. It went to a member already (who I found out works at my office...crazy how small this world is eh?) anyways - last month I mailed a similar gallon bag to a non-member. She paid all of $8 for it. I am an expensive shipper. I should have another batch in...

    Dave’s 90g learning-curve glass room experiment

We're members. Call me crazy but my kids drive me nuts and if my wife can get them out and down there a couple times a year - super. Heck the membership pays for itself in like 3 trips. Anyways - the parking is either the old covered lot (very far) or the uncovered one that is across from...

Mark - just plug in the standard air bubbler you probably have for FW tank. The air bubbler will keep the water fairly oxygenated. even better if you have the $10 airbubbler powered by D batteries. Amazon has them but i think it's too late to order them. But honestly your fish should not be...

Aw they are cute! the aquarium is nice/fun. I wish we lived closer to go more. However my main gripe about it is that the main entrance is a HIKE and a half from the parking lot. Whoever thought up that idea never walked in the rain with little kids before.

    Lets talk UG filters

If you think about it - "gravel" or large sized substrate over the greatest variety of fauna vs tightly packed sand. When I had gulf of mexico coarse substrate - the stuff was teeming with bristle worms, micro stars, amphipods -that would all help consume the "large" detritus leaving the smaller...
