Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
unfortunately even the best retailers will have bad days. While one hopes that at any given moment they will be ready to help - it's just not that easy. Do you live near there is that why you went? I like bringing my wife to Trop and point to the big display and say "Hey if you want that kind of...
LOL_ not after a minute.
That first pic is fantastic - with a camera phone you say? Crisp and in focus.
what is that in the back left corner - chaeto? And uh...that's there because you want to grow pods?
Personally I'm not a fan of algae in the display. Were you going to get a HOB fuge? I'm...
quit hogging them to yourself ryan - i could use their advice sometimes too! ;D
If you are really worried about jumping - you could construct a top with window screen/fishing wire.
I have an open top - but my firefish is out all the time and has not shown any signs of nervousness. I...
i picked up a large one from AqOb a month ago and it has a little nook it sleeps in and is out everyday begging for food. My tank is open top and I've not had any issues. Still fish have a mind of their own and mine may still decide to jump. It's a risk I take.
Maybe being the biggest fish in a...
you could put a squammy in the sump. LOL. ;)
Gorgeous fish - probably one of the those fish that first hooked me to the hobby. Too bad they don't stay with the juvenile markings forever!
Sorry to say but the advice from your friend is not sound and is about 30 years old. A damsel/fish produces ammonia to help get the cycle going - but this can be easily done via a piece of shrimp you might buy at any local supermarket. It's definitely more humane at least since a fish living...
brine shrimp (the just-hatched babies excluded) is the nutrional equivalent to popcorn for humans.
It's fun to eat and the fish love it - but it's nutritionally inadequate. Feed it as a treat - not as a staple. Good luck!
oh and yes i can't count. Failed that at school. LOL.
For some reason...
never seen it before- and in my book if i can't id it positively as something good - it gets flushed. Doesn't mean I know everything - I just don't have the luxury/time to keep all the weird critters in separate tanks (or sump).
I did not shop there but this guy in WI apparently did and is not happy.
I'm thankful that here in NJ we have some fantastic sponsors to shop from and also the club (members) to trade with.
I would disagree with placing an anemone in a 12 gallon tank. You already have 5 fish in a 12 gallon tank. Stick with what you have - don't add anymore.
the banggai is undoubtedly wild caught - and a big no-no for all of us is to not buy fish that are endangered in the wild. What's done is done...
pollute away - everyone else does it. ;)
just joking.
I believe (and it's been several years since I mounted my VHO retro kit) - you need a "standoff" .
Basically you screw the endcaps into the standoff - and the standoff into your canopy.
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
The alk test -
Basically it's about as "dummy proof" as possible for people with brain-freezes (like me) when it comes to doing multiplication to figure out where my results are on the dkh scale. The design is straightforward. Add water...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
So far so good with the clam. My first concern with my lr containing predatory snails/pyrams is gone as they have not shown any inkling towards the maxima. Net conclusion (tentative) is that they are harmless rissoids - so the initial...
That looks like a derasa and the fact that it "fell" is nothing to be worried about. As they age the clams no longer use the threads to hold themselves in place and use their sheer weight as a deterence against predators. Your clam probably felt unsafe perched up there and probably rocked itself...
