Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I was thinking more "neutral zone".
;)
unfortunately I could not locate the "original" ST pics of the bird of prey...btw if the stars look like an "asterina" (google it) then some say good - and some say bad - hence the neutral zone! ;)
LOL - yeah I was thinking that clams could (in ideal scenarios) live upwards of 200 years...what's a couple years shaved off?
But seriously - they are particle (or is it particular? =) ) filter feeders...there's no zooxanthellae so if you have clear water and just high nitrates - they aren't...
I believe the coupon is also only valid on wednesdays and in-store. In the past it wasn't valid on livestock or on fishtanks - I presume that is still the case.
I dunno - while 30% off a single item is tempting but then you pay tax there, and then you have to pay all that gas and tolls.
That would be so cool...even better if you hook a little wireless webcam to the train - then you could see your reef tank from "within"!
then pray that the bulkhead doesn't fail
nice...but keep in mind Mercenaria mercenaria doesn't live in tropical temps 24/7 365 a year. So while it may live in your tank, they probably are on an accelerated metabolism/lifespan.
Off-topic...I've been to Maine in the heat of July and that water is COLD! It doesn't get warmer than 60 and...
looks good...and the kid is growing up fast!
I'm not so sure on the power blue in the tank - but your argument is reasonable. It would be preferable to have a big tank and a vortech. Speaking of which - I know previously you were thinking of upgrading to a larger tank before the landlord...
yep and SPS if kept towards the higher end of the tank can be kept successfully even with a bank of VHOs. Ralph has a bank of vhos and keeps a tank full of gorgeous btas.
I have seen fugs with a lot of flow and fugs with slow flow. In this hobby - there really isn't anything "optimum" - just whatever works best for you. For those with big tanks, they did to "optimize" it against the size of the bulkheads/overflows.
Now we're talking about your 29G tank right? if...
Hate to say this - but to the right of the zoa - that looks like an anemone...and not the kind you want to have in the tank. Is there a stalk? Is that stalk soft? hard? If it's hard - it could be a cup coral. if it's soft - I think you may need something to remove it.
The frogspawn looks great...
Try this site: Custom Cutting Boards
I saw at least one reefer get it on another board and she really liked it.
In a reef tank with white sand, a fair amount of light will get reflected back up off the sand for your corals.
Similarly, if I were to go BB, I'd consider adding this to help...
you'll get more views if you start a new thread. For example - you could start a thread in the Fish/FOWLR forum asking "fish for my 55 gallon tank?"
Or something like that.
A great book btw on fish identification is Rob Fenner's Conscientious Marine Aquarist.
Anyways - I didn't know baggai's...
Wendy - on the quit smoking attempts...I found a great quote for you:
If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.
Thomas Edison.
So go yea forward! (hopefully it's not 10,000 tries though!). ;)
would you be DIY'ing it and adding maybe a Calfo overflow to the set up? If so then you could place the box in the center and use the corners for the returns.
That stated, it's pretty deep at 30". I'm a small guy so personally I wouldn't like it since I would have a hard time reaching to the...
Well - just a sec. I just realized one could dose phyto to feed the refugium fauna (e.g. your copepods).
On the other hand, if you think the corals look better after dosing one drop gallon - then who am I to argue? But I'm pretty sure others have kept those same corals you listed without...
