LOL - for my FIRST tank - I guess it would have been nice if someone had told me not to spend money on the UGF, Cannister Filter, and wet/dry filter.
However - my top five would be:
1. You will get very good at stretching the truth.
Sample: Question from parent/spouse. Response: Oh the new...
Chris - welcome! i'm just south of you in metuchen.
Really great first post/description. Quick question - how long have you had the red fromia? Was under the impression they are tough to keep???
nice...
instead of that link the njrc page, - maybe this link would be better?

This will have all those nice color pics along with the sponsor info.
Skimmer. Although it you're getting a seaclone then go with the fuge. You may even be able to recoup some of the investment by selling the chaeto...years ago I bought mine loaded with mini-stars, bristle worms and 3 blue mushrooms (no idea why he had shrooms in his fuge).
3 months ago was just around the time I went also (my first time) and I guess my experience mirrored yours.
That stated though - in retrospect it occurred to me that AO reminds me a little of say a Nordstrom in service - that is, they leave you at peace to look around, mind your own business...
what a beaut...nice trigger.
and that is a fantastic website...will definitely be tagging along for ideas. You should consider posting the frag-swap html page on the site too!
the lighting would be different depending on whether you were going to have gigas/squamosa/derasa in the tank or croceas/maximas.
Also - besides lighting, you'll need to be prepared to dose the tank with phyto/food for clams that are smaller in size (I believe the rule of thumb is under 4...
Interestingly enough Cleaner Shrimp lysmata amboinensis are in fact hermaphrodites - so if you added a second one - there is a possibility of fertilizing the eggs. There's also a possibility that the shrimp is carrying a sperm packet from previous mating.
However most likely she is carrying...
saltwater is really corrosive so yes you do not want the wood to get moldy or worse, rot. As for what to apply - I'm going to leave that up to the experts here...
as an aside for my 55 i didn't apply anything and the wood doors to my stand started to show signs of corrosion from the...
I know it sounds crazy but those little powerheads do put in heat in a tank. It's probably not noticable in a larger tank...we're talking like only 1~2 degrees in the 55. At least - that's what I noticed with a single maxi 1200 in a 55.
You might also consider a water alarm. I saw an older post...
a guy I knew on RC had a pair and they ate up anemonies (aiptasia or not) with no trouble...laid him tons of eggs too. If you go this route - you may find someone who can ship his/hers to you (because after they finish eating, they don't have much use for them).
Generally speaking though -...
Might want to budget/consider fans for the lights.
I think if you have four ph's in the tank - depending on the temp in your house - I don't think you'll need heaters - but certainly safer to have one (and a hot swap).
With a possible 4 phs in the display, I personally would go even slower...
Re: Attention: Show us your FTS (Full Tank Shot, in case you don't know the term
Mark your tank is a LOT better looking than the pics you posted...
I could try and photoshop some a little...still not what I saw but a bit better: (it's still a tad too green, I'll have to come back and take a...
LOL....unfortunately in 1883 the phillies (or any other team) didn't play 162 games. It wasn't until 1962 (the first year the Mets joined) that there were 162 games to play.
So if you do the math...the phillies have a .469 winning percentage.
The mets have a .476 winning percentage.
End of...
Re: Attention: Show us your FTS (Full Tank Shot, in case you don't know the term
that is a really interesting idea...do you find it distracts much from the display?
