Why would you use egg crate for a cover? That seems counter intuitive imo. A diffuses the light so unless it's fish only then OK but even then it will darken the tank more than you'd expect and you will just remove it sooner than later. It's cheaper to just do the window screen net to get it...

That doser looks awesome. I havent needed to dose yet since I am slowly adding SPS. Already have an older kamoer doser but that looks very very promising. Maybe sell mine cheap to lower cost on it.

BTW, a very big tip or advice on salifert tests that i found was with the 1ml droplets. You should aim for .85 of fluid and the bottom of the suction at the 1ml line. I add or minus from the .85 if it takes to long to try to get it perfect. Simple math.
