I've never been to one of these shin digs before.
Anyone selling frags there too?
Seeing that my tank will remain fallow for a while, it might be time for some new zoos. ;)
Plus, it would be nice to meet some more of you fine folk. :)
Hey guys,
I have a heater question.
I'm on my second heater on my 55g. This one is starting to do exactly what the first one did.
I have the dial set to about 72 degrees. My tank was at 84 this morning and the heater was still on. I can thump it with my finger and it turns off, but then it...
Well they say phosphates should be zero.
And the ph looks a bit low, I think it's supposed to be 8.3ish
The nitrates are plenty low
Don't know about calcium.
Why not just test your water if your fish/corals are happy and compare the 2?
I think option 1 is everything hanging on the back of the tank and option 2 is an entirely seperate tank that he's putting on the side instead of underneath the tank like a lot of people do.
But the question still remains: Where can I get some live rock to stick in the tank that won't need to be qt'ed for 2 months? Is it even possible?
Thanks!
Actually, that is the plan, kind of.
I'm going to keep the 29g running though, and it might be the permanent home of these two clowns, and I'll just replenish some fishies in the 55g when it's ready.
I actually plan on running 2 tanks once all this is over. Same as before, just 2 sw tanks...
Carlos,
Most of my rock has my coral in it, and I'm keeping the big tank w/o fish for a while, so I think I'm just going to keep all that rock in there.
It's new rock I need to get, really...just don't want to wait a few months to put it in.
Ok, here's an update on the state of the union...er..tanks.
I broke down my old 29g freshie, and gave fish, rocks, gravel, driftwood to a fellow enthusiast.
I mixed 10g of water to about 1.023 and filled a 10g tank. I bought a heater for the tank and stuck a powerhead I had in it. I also threw...
Convicts are gone.
29 gallon tank is available
I cleaned out my 10 gallon and added salt to 1.022 and am now circulating and heating. Time to try and get the fishies soon.
Unfortunately, I ran out of salt so I could only mix enough for about 7 gallons.
The 4 fish are about 1 inch long...
So, I've got the ich. Bad.
I knew I had it, but was hoping the ol' garlic would take care of it.
Anyway, here's my deal:
My 55g must have it bad. I've got 2 clowns and 2 damsels and one of each is showing some bad ich.
I could really care less about the damsels at this points (sad to say)...
Right now the tank has:
1 blue damsel
1 domino damsel
2 true percs
1 bta
2 cleaner shrimp
~20 turbo snails
~10 (someothertypeof) snails
15 or so corals
_____________
I think I'm going to let it stay that way for a while, see what happens without adding anything new for a while...maybe like 6...
Yeah, I know.
Right now I have a pair of clowns, a blue damsel and a domino in there. They all look healthy, and the tang has been showing ich for weeks now. Just too dang hard to get fish out of the tank!
I don't think i'm going to add any new fish for quite some time, so hopefully it'll have...
