I am measuring the temp in the tank. My sump sits below in the same cabinet. 75g RR tank with 30g sump. The fish, mushrooms and frog spawn seem fine. I lost many corals over the last few months. Still don't know why.

I was replacing about 3 gallons of water daily because evaporation. I took out the 300 watt from the sump. Temp was around 79-81 degrees. Now it is around 74 with 1 gallon or less evaporation daily. Is this temp acceptable? Thanks, Mark

You can try taking the YT out and put it in a separate tank for about week. This will allow the PBT to adjust and settle in. Then introduce the YT. Hopefully it will not remember the tank and try to find new territory with little to no impact on the others.

I too wanted a snowflake moray when I setup my 75g. It does have a canopy but the back is open with two fans. Do you cover this up or leave it? I didn't cover it becasue I figured the MH lights would get the water temp way to hot so left it open.

I use to hang a few fresh garlic cloves in the tank and replace them ever 2 or 3 days. The fish eventaully started to eat it and the ich was gone. Your skimmer will go nuts but hey it worked for me.

Wouldn't garlic help. I used to hang cloves in my 55g when I saw signs if ich. Cleared up in nless than a week. I replaced the cloves every 2 or 3 days.

I agree Matt would be best for advice. I would think your friend has to start with good clean water, siphoning out garbage each day and replacing it. He should have multiple cultures for baby brine, not the healthiest, but will eat them as my dwarf's did. You can also try culturing rotifiers...

I have to say that even before I joined the club and was on this site asking questions MikeM and Brian both have been very nice, friendly and helpful. I think that was makes the club so great. On-line or at meetings the atmosphere is warm and friendly.

I would like to raise the skimmer in my sump but the PVC won't allow it. The skimmer sits in the first chamber. I plan to use egg crate and partition the sump diagonally and use one section for the filter sock and the other for LR and cheato. Then I plan to use egg crate in the second chamber...
