WOW that thing is a monster! You could probably cut Like 6-8 inches off the top of the canopy and just cap it with a piece of finished plywood with routed edges. Would be a cheap fix
Wow simmer down, why so harsh? The design matters. Lifeguard UV- 25 watts rated for 200 gallons. Turbo twist- 18 watts rated for 250 gallons. So the lifeguard treats about 8 gallons per watt, where the turbotwist treats about 13.8 gallons per watt making it more efficient cause you get away with...
You can't go by just watts though .... it matters how the water is passed over the light. Like the turbo twist, it gets away with a lot less watts cause it spirals the water
I have the same tank. 4- 250 mh ( 2- 12k, 2- 10k), and 2- vho 6' actinic. Looks great! Really depends on what you want to keep though. I know you said mixed reef and thats what i thought i was gonna do. But i know have sps all over the tank even near the bottom and they're growing nicely. Only a...
I have the same thing in my tank! Every morning when the light comes on i have to wipe em of with the float. They look like tiny tiny white serp stars or somethin, smaller than a pea. Def not an apitasia though. Glad i'm not the only one
I have the 40 and think it's great. The only downside is of course the price. For this kind of mony i'd like to be able to direct the flow like you can with cheaper pumps (seio's or koralias that start at only 20 bucks).
Yeah thats true.... Vortech mp40= 439.00, 2-koralia #4's= 110.00. You could even use 3- maxi 1200's on that wave timer strip. I had it in my 120 it worked great, and cheap too like 65.00!
