I'd say 2 x 175 watt should suffice a tank of that length and height. 150's may not be enough, and 250's would probably be overkill. Each metal hallide bulb, with the proper reflectors, should be ablt to cover a 2' x 2' area of tank, and should pentrate that depth of water pretty well.
I have to agree here. You could be seeing a more serious issue years down the road if this water is entering at the sill where the house meets the concrete. I'd look into stopping the water from entering at all. Ambient humidity can be dealt with, but if its being caused by water entering at...
That might be a couple too many anemones for a tank that size. They do tend to move around, and will often pick wars with their neighbors.
You'll want strong lighting and a well established bio-system for that many nems, as well as a good skimmer. I'd say you'd need at a minimum 6 or so t5's...
Looking for either 250 watt MH pendants or 400 watt pendants with ballasts and sockets for a buddy of mine.
I will be at the frag swap, so can "do the deal" there.
Let me know what you guys have laying around in the closet that could easily turn into some extra cash for your frag habit! :)
Good point! I need to replace my filters anyway and I see that AirWaterIce has specific filter packs for my unit to handle treated city water as opposed to untreated well water.
I'm not sure what the TDS number is that they have to hit, but I do know they test the water at the supply, not at each delivery. God only knows what it goes through by the time it gets there. I know I have city water now and I hate it, the chlorine is killing my RO/DI filters. I miss my well...
David:
You could also try installing one of these prior to the in flow to the kat/ani unit. It might help eliminate some of the sedimate etc before it hits the unit without the waste water issue of the ro/di unit...
It breaks my heart, but it has to go.
I will pass the same deal that Anthony gave to me.
210 gallon AGA, custom cherry colored Stand an Full canopy. Dual overflows. Canopy has built in cooling fans.
$750 is what adesimone sold it to me for, that is what I will let it go for.
*Warning* this...
Hey guys and gals. I know I have been gone for a while (again) and I apologize. Its a very long depressing story.
At any rate, I need your collective help.
For anyone at MACNA this past year. Do you remember the holding tubs that Mr. Coral used?
I need to find these.
If anyone can help me...
Yeah, lemme see if I can get a pick with my camera phone. When the psycho left, she took both digital cameras, so lemme see what I can do today before I head out.
I'm pretty sure I have bulkheads for both size holes too. You could just put stand pipes in them, and take the flow from higher up...
Well, if you are lifting the fuge up higher than the sump to gravity feed it to sump, you can just put a bulkhead in one of the holes and run a drain line down, and then cover or plug up the other hole. I have one of them that I am using as a small sump right now, and all I did was silicone the...
Yep. I agree. I'd T that return pump off to the fuge too. Since you are oversizing it and will have to dial it back anyway, use some of that extra flow to feed the fuge. 1 less piece of equipment to worry about.
UGG! Get that thing outa there! I had one take out half a 55 gallon tank! Took me DAYS to get him out! He killed fish 5 ot 6 times his size, destroyed corals, desimated a clam OVER NIGHT.
