Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Kevin:
You say you moved your tank. Was your PH in acceptable ranges before the move? Is it possible you may have caused a "mini cycle" by stirring up things in, around, or under rockwork or sand? This absolutely can spike the PH downward. Test for ammonia etc.
Before enacting any measured...
Yeah, my alerts did that at first too. If you add the "from" email address to your contacts that shouldn't happen.
Did you try manually syncing the settings between the software and seneye.me?
I'm not sure if the beta software is available for open download or not. I doubt they want it out...
Ok, so Matt from Seneye got back to me today. Here's what we have:
If you know, for a fact, that whatever device you are testing against is accurate, and Seneye is not, you can open the Control program and at the bottom right you will see a "padlock" symbol. Click this symbol to unlock the...
Great meeting, great time, great people, great food. Who can ask for more? Thanks to Anthony and Terri for opening their home up to all of us! Fantastic tank! Great to see the "old" faces, and meet the new ones! Here's to the next!
It is odd. My temperature has been spot on when tested against a thermometer. Hopefully I'll hear back from Matt at Seneye on Monday (although he does occasionally check his email on Saturdays, I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.)
I'll let you guys know what he says.
I need to make a correction on this. Jason, you are in fact correct about the PH being off. My Pinpoint was reading "low battery", which inherently in the past has provided me with incorrect readings when that happens.
I changed the battery, and the Pinpoint is reading about 7.97 - 7.98...
Thanks for all the feedback.
After reading your experiences, I decided to do some testing of my own.
I placed a glass thermometer literally right next to the device, and matched up readings as often as I could. Mine seems to be reading pretty spot on. The last reading was 78.9 by the device...
Hey Jason:
I looked at your image. (And I've spoken with Matt over at Seneye several times on the alerts, as well as the lag time between the device readings and the update to the website, mine always seems to be 1 or 2 readings behind on the website).
I had a similar issue with the...
I'm bringing a Seneye Reef to the meeting, and I have a great introductory price for the club as well, so don't buy till you try! LOL! I've been in contact with the guys over at Seneye quite regularly (I'm kind of a pain in the butt that way, but they have been great answering all my petty...
I don't worry about the rock on the back glass. I let it lean right up against it. As for the sides, my rule of thumb has always been test with my arm. If I can get my arm in the tank against the side without touching the rock, I have enough space. Sometimes magnets just don't do it, and you...
The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club!
That's bizarre! I've seen mine go at each other before, but never in a big ole mob fight light that! LOL!
I have one from Buckeye and one from AWI. I've been equally happy with both! Just make sure whatever you get, if you have city water, you make sure it has the chlorine reduction stage. If you have well water, you don't need that stage.
Sounds like you have a great plan!
Definitely looking forward to following along! Take lots of pictures and post often! We all love to live vicariously through others builds, especially considering for most of us, the build is the most fun part, and we can't build a new system every week! LOL!
Welcome aboard!
Looks good so far.
I'd do away with the grounding rods. In my opinion, they pretty much just mask a potential problem. If I have something leaking voltage into the tank, I want to know about it. (and that little jolt you get sticking your hand in the water will CERTAINLY let...
Anyone want their refractometer calibrated? Bring it to the meeting. I just bought a whole bottle of calibration solution I'll probably NEVER use all of!
