Brandon's WTH was I thinking 125 gallon madness

You might wanna check and see what the constant water level for that skimmer needs to be. For instance, my Coralife, the pump needs to be 3" below the water surface, so I have it set up in the first chamber where the water level never changes. If you do not have the proper water level in that...

    GPH in a carbon reactor?

http://www.njreefers.org/joomla/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=21943.30 For what its worth, I have the mini-jet 600 on my TLF with a ball valve to dial it back. not really sure what the "GPH" on it is after being dialed back, but I dial it back visually so the carbon isn't moving...

    GPH in a carbon reactor?

depends on the reactor and how much media you have in it. If it's just something like a TLF reactor, the min-jets are good, with a ball valve to dial back the flow so that the water moves through the carbon, but does not move the carbon. There was discussion in I think a phosban reactor thread...

    40 Breeder Reef Plan

I'd be suspect of your test kit. If you are cycling, and you are seeing ammonia that is going down, you should be seeing nitrites go up, then nitrites go down and nitrates go up. Might wanna double check that test with your LFS or a close by fellow reefer. Something doesn't seem to click with...

    Hawaiian Strawberry Crab?

I have one now in my 90 that has take to a specific rock. The rock is kind of "dome" shaped, and he found a hole on the bottom flat side that he crawed up into. Would have never seen him if I hadn't lifted the rocks and saw him throw out his claws like a prize fighter! LOL! (I put the rock back...

im tired of the auto industry looking for a new start

I hear ya bro! It's the same in retail! Retail always used to be "safe". Been in retail management for over 15 years, but now, with the way things are in general, you have district managers applying for store manager positions and willing to take pay cuts. In the past 3 years, I've seen my...

    TDS and refractometer calibration questions

Thanks! Mine is a handheld from air water ice that came with the typhoon III. Just looked it up and their meters are apparently factory calibrated to 342 NaCL solution. That's what I was looking for, so that's what I will go with then. I think that's about what I was reading doing some...
