Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Thanks Carlo, no, I know it's not a solor wrasse. The soler***** was just the scientific name that was posted on the tank. I just can't for the life of me remember what the heck it was. I will see if I can get some better pics up. Maybe someone can nail down the name.
You know, I can't for the life of me remember what the heck it is. It was labeled "soler-blah-blah-something". How pathetic is that?
So far the bi-color has been ok. He tried to come out and be social, but "Dr. Evil" the tang laid a smack down on him and drove him into a corner. I had to...
I am running my 55 (until the 120 upgrade) with 4x54 HO T5. Water chemistry is stable: PH 8.2, Salinity 1.025, Ammonia: 0, 'trite:0 'trate:0 Calcium runs between 400 and 450 (the test was hard to read).
My stupid clowns are trying to host my zoas! They just started doing this today, wierdest...
Hey fishyman, I'm not sure how far you are from In Living Color in Marlton, but they had a ton of really nice seahorses in there today when I was there. They were all eating frozen food, healthy, alert and active.
You should check them out!
If you haven't taken the trip to see Ed and his guys/gals at In Living Color, you are doing yourself a HUGE injustice!
Just to see a sales guy use a CAPTURE CUP and not a net was a huge plus, let alone the knowledge, understanding, patience, and eagerness to help.
Not only did he use a capture...
Thanks everyone!
I think I have a pretty good plan in place at this point.
First: Tank
Second: Build stand and canopy
Third: Lights (got some great info from Ed at ILC today, THANKS ED!)
Fourth: Sump and Skimmer
I finally got the "junker" working again, and it is back to pulling out a cup...
No worries, I'm a charter member of the "reading is fundamental" club! ;D
I would tend to agree, is there a controller out there that will handle two heaters?
Or should each be on its own controller?
BTW, Francis, I found it over here...
Wait, I might pay to see a bunch of guys get buzzed and try to stack rocks in a near 1,000 gallon box of water! (that might just be the sicko side of me, though...) Bet a video of that would get MILLIONS of hits on youtube! ;D
Hehe... Yeah, I'm looking at that one. Looks like a decent price.
But, as I asked before, do you think 500 watts is ok for 120 gallon either way? Not sure how big the sump is going to be, but at the minimum it will end up being a 30 gallon long (if not bigger).
My fault for the confusion. I am using a Hydor heater right now with two digital thermometers. I was looking to see if anyone had used the finnex to see if it was worth checking in to because it had the controler and the price was pretty decent.
At any rate, I picked up a glass thermometer...
Hmm... Guess I should have thought to test with a glass thermometer. Sometimes it's the simplest things you don't think about. I'll check that out tomorrow.
