I did understand...I am just not into putting flotsam in my tank....personally. I agree with you in Paul's tank it it quite interesting...I have read his entire thread on MR and some others that he wrote before he came sometimes to NJRC. I completely respect what he has managed to accomplish...

Just put a valve that you can adjust the return rate in. I would suggest it because then you can close the valve off if you turn the pump off too.

Invert wise a lot of people put in a sexy shrimp as they are very cool looking but often end up as a meal in a normal tank.

Lets see if I can find it. Yep This is what I have in the back of my nano(QT). I put floss in the first chamber so I tank it out ever few days. Helped clean up the surface. I had cheato behind with a light bar worked pretty well.

Who are you going to believe Phyl or something you read. ;D 6M is good 9 is stretching it. Since your one bulb is new I would set up a schedule to replace one bulb every 2-3 months.

Can you move the heater in with the pump? I had some problems with the cheato going into the pump as pieces break off just a heads up.

If you can take the fish back I would strongly suggest it. If it won't eat it is going to starve. Better you get a fish that can live in your tank. The goby on the other side is a great fish to keep. I just got a pair from AO that are in my QT and they are little pigs and very interesting to watch.

While I commend you all for recycling, I honestly just don't get it. I mean I understand the concept but why not use a seashell if you don't already have a graveyard of turbos? I guess if you like the look fine, and Paul's tank has a certain charm because his is different. I guess what I am...

There are some others like the shaving brush plant that grown in the sand that are attractive, turtle grass is another. They are supposed to be grazer resistant...but I found conchs ate the shaving brush plant. Greg's tanks with the macro's are quite beautiful I wouldn't knock them.

I don't think it looks that big. I have the big rectangular one on the Tek so maybe I am used to it. Does it come with a cover for the overflow? In any case it is a great looking medium sized tank. Congrats.

Yeah it would be more...I like the cubes though. For me personally it is easier....maybe I am in the minority.

T5 hands down. My suggestion for bulbs UVL Aquasun 10K, ATI Blue Plus, and Geissman Actinic. I don't run the ATI, may someday, but the results that I have seen are great. Fixtures...you will want a minimum of a 4 bulb maybe 6 bulb fixture. Tek, Catalina Aquarium(what I have), Coralife all make...
