Daily water changes are a pain that I am not willing to undertake for freshwater. But they are truely beautiful fish.

IMHO 12K is not blue enough..I think, maybe you remember Mike is running 14K, which might do it.

I have had them disolve then grow back then disappear again. Just give it a shot by leaving it there it is not going to hurt anything.

I believe color is the primary reason for them, but it is easy to argue that certain corals and coraline algae do better under actinics too. With enough blue and purple spectrum bulbs corals especially the LPS give me flashbacks to the black light days, now all I need is a Led Zepplin poster...

The only downside is it doesn't come in the little cubes otherwise it is great.
