Just one found 2 Turbines but I believe you need a a gen pack with the first one.. but you will find many converters/ gen packs/ on ebay

Thanks John... Just got the genarator all hooked up and have it covered.. Plywood is a rare commodity around these parts.. also shocked that i could get gas.. but the guy said he was almost out

Great find. I also just looked up the information on the UPS's I was able to borrow from work and they are going to give me roughly 8 hours of run time! Im going to leave everything plugged into the wall with the exception of the return pump which will be in the UPS.

Also leave the skimmer unplugged too just one or two air bubblers.. is there anyway of hooking a timer up to it too.. maybe run it/them on the hour for 20 mins that will give you some more time

I had a idea before about adding oxygen if the power is out and you don't wont to do the H202.. is get air tubes with air stones or wand. and attach bellows to the tubing.. Walmart sells them for around $10 in seasonal

I bought 2 battery powered fans at Walmart a while ago for camping. If the power goes out I'll have to decide whether I want to sleep or keep my tank oxygenated. :rolleyes:

Nice find Sid. Some really good ideas there. I have always opened the curtains in the fish room to give them light during an outage. Whoops, I'll leave them closed this time. I think I've even feed them sometimes too. Not this time. I've got (2) battery powered air pumps with extra batteries ready to go. Hopefully they'll do the job if needed.

Walmart also sells something like these too. I remember seeing them when I was shopping for camping/fishing stuff last month and thought they would be good for the home aquarium.

I completely forgot to post up what i used - it was so ghetto i never glanced at it before until we lost power.

Anyways - it is called "hurricane category 2 air pump".

It takes 2 D batteries. I used this one my 120 gallon tank for 24 hr straight. It created a ton of salt creep/etc but the corals/fish were ok. Mind you my caveats are : the tank is not full - I only have 7 fish (one tang) and I would like to say there is still room in my tank for corals. So if your set up is more populated, you may want 2, 3 of these pumps. It comes with a very short airline and a round airstone.
