Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Not at this time, I need them for NEW membership, or memberships that have expired and are coming back.
Currently, if you are on autorenew with Paypal, its automatic. If I don't see a payment when I post them in membership each month, I send an email.
We are planning sometime in the future to...
We got your paypal, but since we didn't see an updated application, didn't have a chance to match it up.
I have upgraded your account to member status. Can you please take a few minutes and fill out a new application form so we can gaurantee we have the correct information. When complete email...
I have used ROX for the last 18 months (before downsizing) and would change out ever 2 weeks. Since it adsorbs more, you can use less. I did 1/2 cup for 110 gallons (90 display + sump) and changed every 2 weeks.
As per this message: http://www.njreefers.org/joomla/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=14216.msg211361#msg211361
Your card went out on 3/25/2010 and I have not had any back in the mail undelivered as of yet.
When we can be a point of upgrading tghe forum software to version 1.1.11 or 2.0 RC3, there is a amin function to directly address the timeout issue. (They let compose timeouts differ from session cookies.)
The timeout is a function partially of cookies on your system. When you start a message a coookie with the session info is placed on your system. A lot of the "security" programs intercept the cookie. If SMF can't write the cookie, its starts a 2 minute count down.
Get in the habit before you...
In RODI water, since it is 0 tds, there aren't enough ions to accurately measure PH. PH measurement in RODI water requries equipment outside of the range normally used by Reefers.
Once there is *something* in the water (Salt, additives, etc), there are enough ions to get a reading.
Dave, I think there "were" valid concerns, but Reef Salt Manufacturers have spent a lot of time and money changing formulations to address this exact need.
There is also a fine line between the needs of the tank and the needs of the makeup water.
Reef Crystals for example will have an initial...
Most of the salts that target "reefs" (Reef Chrystals, Tropic Marin, etc), all have good starting levels for reef. Most have a CA of 440 and an ALK of 10-12. Adding directly to the salt to bring up the levels are needed for Salt like Instant Ocean and some of the others targeted at FOWL.
But...
Generally with most controllers, the temp probe acts as a ground reference. So you should have at least 12 inches distance away from PH probes/ORP Probes.
PH Probes generally should not be submerged past with the cable connection on the top of the probe unless the word submersable is printed on...
Copper ruining the tank is right up with the urban legend that if you clean the outside of your tank with Windex, it will eventually seap in to the tank.
Just do a good vinegar cleaning like any other tank, new or used.
