I was checking the dates and 2 of the kits were out dated. Just went to the store and picked up new kits here at the readings I tested two times
cal 580 took 29 drops ttwice
mag over 1500 both times used all of what was in the ssyringe
alk 11 came back 11 both times
I used an api calcium test kit it read 560 or about.
I used an api kh test kit it read 8 i believe i will have to retest tonight as i know forgot.
I used salifert Mag test it was 1300

Sweet thanks for the help. I think me putting a power head lower in the tank also dug some of he crud up from the bottom which probably helped he detritus grow.
Could adding reefbrights as a day/night lite cause a spike in diatoms? I have been running 2 400watt m/h and 2 t-5's for years with no problems but at night I would leave dark. I wanted to add some night light so i put this reefbrite on and about 4 days later im getting diatoms??
