Erik,
My hairy shrooms contract when anything edible gets on them, or when a crab or snail bothers them. they look like they are curling up from the edges to the center. once the irritant goes away or they've moved the food to their mouth they always open back up. of course, none of this is...
I'm considering adding a HOB refugium to my system, since I don't have room in the sump to add one. Any opinions on makes/models? I am looking for something inexpensive, and I already have a light and pump i think would work. I'm also unclear on how the plumbing works on these things... I've...
From your video and your pictures it appears you have the plumbing in to the sump submerged a good deal. If you can make it so that air can travel back up the pipe, it should help with the sucking sounds. Without the airflow, you build backpressure and that is what makes it noisy. I think the Y...
So unfortunatly I have another event to attend this same day with my better half, and because this is unfortunatly not near my home, she, and the other party have to take precedence. Sorry all, I was really looking forward to it. I'll keep hoping I can get to a meeting sometime.

i've ordered from them several times. I have had great luck with my crabs from there, but i ordered emeralds and porcelains. I have had mixed results with their snails. the first batch of azstrea's i got were great, and the cerith's too. The second set of astria's i just added I lost about half...
Not the stick type, but a 2 part liquid. you can find it with the glue in the paint area of home depot. the 5 minute epoxy in a syringe works well i have found. it's great for plastic applications where there are rough edges, scoring works well on smooth surfaces. I use it to seal magnets before...
Re: I couldn't help myself (Remember the guy who tried to rip me for the skimmer
I can't believe he actually said "buyer is a retard" That's just rediculous. I think they should pull it just for that. I can't believe some people....
So Paper Mill Theater where I work may be closing down soon, so I may be out of a job. I've been thinking of a career change anyway, but I've become addicted to my paycheck and really don't have any idea of what else I want to do (helpful isn't it?)
Any ideas? I know it would help if I'd met...
For long term use, and stability, i'd use epoxy. the 2 part is safe once it's cured. Super glue gets fragile with age, while epoxy is comparitivly (sp) flexible.
I bought the fixture from aquatraders.com which appears to be odyssea's online retailer. I bought the 36" w/250w MH
I read a lot, and asked lots of questions... In the end, it seams they make an OK fixture, the new electronic ballasts are good, no worries about them burning up, but the bulbs are...
Does anyone have a preffered retailer to by new lighting equipment from? I bought a cheap Odyssea fixture and i want to replace the lamps. I've looked around a little online, but would like to know what everyone thinks
Thanks

I'm not sure if there is a cost I've never done it, but they almost always seem to be testing somebody's water while i'm there. Give them a call. I don't have a number, but you can look them up online. A warning though if you go there, you have to get someone's attention or they will totally let...
Depending on your Northness. Absolutly fish in clifton will test your water if you take it in during the week. In NY I think New World Aquarium will test too
