    Coral Supplements

I agree with Matt Marc Weiss products are a waste, for you mike the only thing I'd recommend for now is the seachem reef plus which is amino's, use one capfull per week, if you want to spend the money then definitely go with zeo but it's not cheap.

Like Wendy I too have Bahama oolite in 3 of my tanks and pink fiji in the other, I don't have a problem either with it blowing around (at first I did when the tanks where new). In my 120 I have a vortech, tunze 6000, and 3 hydor 3's, in my 80g bow I have 2 vortechs, 2 tunze 6055's and a hydor 1...

    T5 Questions

Ed, All I'm trying to do is help people understand, ice cap and SLS are both good company's, the major difference is the ballasts, believe it or not Current USA isn't all that bad either. I for one do not like overdriving of bulbs, it really defeats the purpose of going with T5's, they do...

    T5 Questions

Do you have a 30 inch tank or any research you can point out to confirm this? Maybe the ballests that you use aren't over driven like IceCap 660s.IceCap Overdriving means the ballast will run the lamps at a higher wattage than they are rated for. It will run a 54 watt T5 lamp at between 75 and...

    T5 Questions

There is no 6' T5, the 80 watt T5's are 5' bulbs, they have been on the market for a couple of years now. Also let me know a year from now if your clams and SPS are still alive and fully colored. 39w and 54w do not penetrate enough in a 30" deep tank to support crocea and maxima clams for a...

    T5 Questions

Would need to know the size of the tank to better help you, how deep is your tank? if it's greater than 24" you will need 80 watt T5's or MH's otherwise you will not have the needed penetration to put SPS and clams lower in the tank.

    MH Bulbs

I'm not 100% possitive but I think they were 12k reeflux, Ushio's are ok a lot of people use them, I personaly don't like them. I like the Iwasaki's the best when it comes to MH's.

    MH Bulbs

Mike, now that your getting into SPS stop looking at cheap bulbs, you get what you pay for when it comes to lighting and they may cause more problems then they are worth, I guaranty you they are the cheap china made bulbs and are junk after 1-2 months use. Trust me you don't want to take...

    dumb question of the day.

some things that happen, 1, cut your bulbs life in half 2, promotes (bad) algae growth 3, corals do most of their feeding at night 4, plankton and other night critters will not become active that's just a few

    RTN STN

Did you look for pests? If the recession isn't cause by pests and you dip, it will most likely die, try to find a spot it won't be bothered and leave it be, SPS usually takes up to 2 weeks to adjust to a tank. The only other thing to try would be to use glue over the receded area, sometimes it...
