I can't officially have the name changed but a long day it has been and lots of empty beer cans and bottles of liquer we have a 120 up and running.. i almost ran out of room with the combination of two tanks. got alot of rock left and some corals to place. Need more lights too haha I almost...
i think this weekend is gunna be the end for this tank and the 55 then up for sale.. I'm pretty settled on a Marineland 120 so we'll have equipment and some fish for sale here soon.
no i used Bahama Live sand as this was my first tank so it takes alot to get the sand stirred up. I put the nozzle on the end of the Koralia so the flow isn't as broad.
my Koralias are too week for both to be on the same side of the tank so i put the flow director on and put one on each side. one at the top and one at the bottom. it's kinda working to get the water moving and looks like most of my corals are actually out today
my mag 6 could still blow a hole in the sand on my 220 from one side to the other. i dont think that a Magnum 6 is big enough PH for this size tank. I wouldnt go lower than a magnum7. i'm gunna switch the powerheads in the 55 and in the big tank.. i'll take some before and after shots :)
i've been using the Maxi for 6mos or so.. no problems. at one time the impeller would stick when restarted after being unplugged like it was stuck. i haven't had that probelm in a while and it moves more water then the magnum 6, sucks more power too
I'm ready to downsize my 220, upgrade the 55 while putting both together in a spot we can enjoy. Anyone know if 150gal tank are available in stores? i see that glasscages can make them but i'd be fine with a Perfecto after having the big tank made by them. not to mention our electric bill sucks..
Ever seen one of these guys? it seems to have no shell and was buried in the sand with just it's arms above searching for food. appears to have a siphon tube like a nassarious..
Currently we have a new (2008) Oil fired Boiler with hydronic baseboard heat and a small woodstove. the woodstove is smaller than i would like and i have a standard Brick/mortar chimney that has a good liner (inspected last year) along with a double wall 6in chimney to one side.
My dilemma is...
Some New Additions last night. dont mind the cyano, between the crappy salt i tried and not having a refuge tied in you get the point.
New Bubble
Lyretail Anthia Male
Purple Firefish
filter feeding cucumber
i got a starry blenny too and hes behind the Male Mandarin
i want to state for the record i really hate this tank.... it is doing good with minimal maintenance and coming together nicley i really hate the size. The front to back of tank is too shallow and the stand well.. you know you can't fit anything down there, ugh...
some pics soon we just got in...
besides the fact that i am considering downsizing and putting two tanks into one i'm soooo ready to get this new Reeflo Marlin plumbed in. I'm also seriously considering going all T5 on this tank even though i really love the shimmer halides put out.
