Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

My family moved out here when I was 7-8. It's pretty, but man is there a dearth of restaurants and entertainment around here. Just wish I could even get chinese delivered or that there was a half decent restaurant/bar in the area. It's like living on the moon sometimes. I've always wanted a SW...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

Technically I'm in Clinton Township even though my mailing address is Annandale. I manufacture nowhere near 200-400 gallons per day in waste water. It's more like 50-60 gallons per use. I only have a 90GPD system and I only do a 10-15% water change every week on my 20G nano. So I really make...

    Petco $1/gallon sale

Bought one of the 40B's last time. My dog knocked over a chair that was missing a leg into the corner of the tank. Took a nice chip out of it. Was probably for the best. The silicone looked ok on the front side, but on further inspection, you can see many air bubbles in the other seams. The...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

Since the spot it would be coming out of the house is on the least viewable corner of the home, nsoo one will ever really see this other then when the utility comes and checks the electric meter; I was planning on running the pvc down closer to the ground and away from the foundation a bit...

My first build thread (29g Biocube)

I would suggest checking out how to make a social acclimation box out of a kritter keeper. If you or someone you know is handy or at least has a dremel or something, it doesn't seem too difficult. Either that or a specimen container that hangs on the outside, except placed inside the tank with...

    Petco $1/gallon sale

They gonna stock up again with Tetras instead of the Aqueons? That's all the nearest store to me had last time.

    LFS near lyndhurst

Both have beautiful livestock. Prices are def higher, but I got my Peacock at Elos for $50 and that's pretty reasonable given what they go for online. Didn't check out their other prices as I had absolutely no idea that's what the iPads were for, LOL.

    LFS near lyndhurst

OGII is in North Plainfield on 22. That's not all that close to Lyndhurst, but if you head that way, Elos is in Short Hills about 10-15 mins from OGII. Absolutely Fish is in Clifton on 46 and that's gonna be the closest and easiest to get to besides AO on your way down 95.

    Started using GFO

I got the same test kit, I think buying it was a mistake as the color chart is impossible to decipher sometimes. The colors can be so similar, like the 10-20-30ppm nitrate on the API test is all kinda orange, just a bit darker as you get higher. I had a hard time seeing the difference between...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

So I just get a tee and a hose bib like you got in the pic there, cut out a section of the pipe, put the tee in, then hopefully use that cut piece of pipe to connect the tee to the hose bib? There's a shut off valve on the line going into the RO/DI. So leaving the saddle valve open, at all...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

I read you don't have to shut it off, but that it's best to do so to avoid any leakage. There's a saddle valve on the line already that hasn't leaked in the many years it's been installed, but I would think the sharkbite fittings share that problem since they use a rubber seal as well?

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

That provides enough pressure? If I were to do this, anything I need to know? It seems too simple...just turn off water, clamp/pierce/seal, turn water back on and that's it?

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

When I mount it though, it's gonna have to stay high up on the joist though, as I only have maybe a couple inches to work with before the waste line has to move uphill. Can I just nail it to the beam though? And I was thinking that about tapping into the plumbing running to the outlet just...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

I could, but then I gotta drill more holes and find a place for the RO unit to go. Kitchen isn't gonna work, as there's not really any space underneath the sink and the faucet doesn't have threads that would allow the hose connecter to screw in and the mud room doesn't work since the sink there...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

I just want to not have to pump the waste water out of a Brute container in my basement. It's the can on the right in the first pic. Because as of now, that can fills faster than the blue tote on the left, so if I run the RO/DI, the waste container overflows before the RO container hits full...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

Nope. Nothing down there that can use it. Plus, washing machine is a front loader. I was thinking if plan A fails, plan B is a couple float switches to turn the pump on and off. Or maybe just a hose timer. I really don't want to have to remember that it's running. Since I work from home, it's...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

This is where my RO system is now. Here's where I'd like it to exit the basement. Also where I'd put the RO/DI if I were to do this, closer to the window though. Couldn't get over there without moving some old furniture and I'm too lazy for that right now. Here is the other side of the...

Routing RO Waste Water Line Outside

Since I'm getting a new tank, I was standing in my basement, dreading having to clean it, so instead of doing that, I pondered how I could make it easier to run my RO/DI system. My waste water reservoir is not large enough to hold all the water that is created by the time it fills the RO...

Power Heads for a 75 gal. Tank

How do you like your jebao's so far? As much as I'd prefer to buy a Tunze, rather than a knock off, the fact that it's 1/3 the price is hard to ignore.

    Walking dead

I mean, I thought her scenes were cringe-worthy they were so bad. What was her big line tonight? We all change? It would have sounded better coming from the kid than from her. It sounded weak, it sounded like she was just hiding her insurmountable fear that she's still as useless as she was when...
