What tank will it be going over?
If you are going from parabolic to individual reflectors on T5s, then it is well worth it. Going individual to individual sees diminished returns imo without some damage to the origionals.
The reeflux 12k and phoenix 14k are the 2 most popular bulbs right now for that wattage and color temp.
I might even have a used phoenix bulb you can try if my sale falls through.

What brand of powerhead did you use? A low wattage one shouldn't raise your temperature and help with your problem. Also Mag pumps are notorious for doubling as a water heater. Can you describe or give us a picture of your sump setup?
I like the 150W XM 10K. They put out a great amount of PAR and are a nice white.
For the T5s, I would strongly consider having one KZ Fiji Purple in there. It brings out reds and purples in your corals.
A theory that is being explored when running 2 refugiums is to run them on alternating 6 hour cycles. The theory goes that this will give you the best bang for your buck as it were. When I'm off work tonight I'll see if I can find the article talking about it.

They are currently interviewing for Fish and Invert Volunteers. In particular they are looking for Monday, Thursday and/or Friday volunteers. Might get a Sunday one as well since they realized I was all by my self.
