I don't remember what size tank you have, but two of these on a 4 foot tank would be plenty.
I'm not sure where your concern is. If your tank and sump isn't sealed in some way with lids, etc. and you have a decent skimmer, and if the lowest reading is 8.0, there's really nothing to worry about.
