when the power went out in my house sunday at 7:30 am and stayed off til tues around 3 pm. My 75 gal with a ton of coral and mostly small fish 7 to be exact did not handle the ordeal dispite my many attempts to keed the water moving.
my 90 gal. with 4-6" fish and no coral however all survived...
did you use the water from your 55? that would do it. if not its pretty much like starting over. could add some stability but nothing like time to grow the best bacteria.
another thing to consider is if your going to run any reactors off your main pump ie carbon/phos or bio pellets.I like doing this cause I hate to hook up more pumps. it starts to get really busy in the sump with wires all over the place. If you do this you have to take your pump size into...

my choice would be t5 or led. I agree with bax on the mag 12 reliable but such energy hogs. anything 700 gph or a little more you dont want your tor to be from return pump get some good powerheads. without baffles how will you address micro bubbles in your display coming in from drains?

LRFO tank had some blue shrooms in there nothing else. eats whatever I feed it. flakes, mysis, pellets whatever. I'm sure he would love your zoos not sure about anything else.
