try this, use a stiff bristle tooth brush, and brush at the coraline you do have.... small flecks you can't even see will come off and spread it.... i did that when i first started, and it worked well

black lights look kinda dim on the tank.... you can get 48" t12 black light bulbs at most home depots for like $15. i haven't tried it since i got some of the more neon looking corals, might be worth another try...
used it twice last year, a second treatment was required. just make absolutely sure you have carbon and lotsa change water available.... they're not kidding when they say these things release toxins when they die... water will turn yellowish, maybe try just slightly more than the recomended...
