i like them too.... very cool, but i don't know how i feel about continually buing starfish for them to eat alive..... i buy rats for my snake, but he kills them before he eats them.... ::)
not to say "told ya so" but that is why we like to take this hobby very very slow, do it once, do it right.... go to some meetings, or ask some folks on here bout going to their houses to see their tanks before you settle, i'll volunteer for you to stop by my place in middletown and give you...
that is a great price, i've seen 2 heads sell for the same price... if mikem hadn't given me one :D, i'd grab that one real quick....i hope someone else jumps on it...
wouldn't scraping with a razor blade be a better and safer method than using a caustic acid in the tank, does anyone know if muriatic acid has any effect on silicone?
i would only buy packaged "aquarium" sand.... with the hundreds spent on lights, rocks, skimmers, tanks, stands, chillers, fish, and corals, why skimp on the foundation..... maybe if i had a 1000 gallon tank and the sand would cost thousands more. but with the time and effort we put into our...

i've moved tanks and out of ignorance reused the sand and had no terrible reprocussions, but other people i have spoken with have had disastorous effects.... good luck and keep an eye on your levels
rods food available at aquatic obsessions is the best i've ever used.... it replaced the 8 or 10 different types of frozen food i used to use, and costs less, and has more different stuff in it than you could imagine..... i recommend anyone to try it, it's fantastic....
just f.y.i. i have that fixture, and use the uvi bulbs, no issues.... the uvi actinic buls make the tank look great, i'll change when the bulbs need to be replaced....
