Just saw this pop up to the front page and seems I missed Tom.
Hi Tom.
Also see Zoe.
Hi Zoe.
Just wanted to introduce myself as the good looking, vastly intelligent, superior witted one who functions as the glue to hold this place together.
If the others post responses trying to diminish this...
Bah. Go natural.
Pull the rocks out and suck the bubble algae off them, then spit them into a nearby spitoon like a man.
When I'm not doing that, I'm using 1 or 2 emerald crabs.
Then get some pods in there and a decent small sized cuc to maintain.
36” four bulb fixture
Tank is 12” deep, lights 4” above water
Want bluish 16k+ look with big color pop
The options (front to back)…
Blue+ Blue+ Actinic Blue+
Blue+ Blue+ Purple+ Blue+
Blue+ Purple + Blue+ Actinic

Experiences appreciated.
Figured I'd update this as a progress note.
So I've been dehydrating organic kale, spinach, and romaine. Never realized the time it takes to do this. To dry out, pre-freeze drying, takes about 24 hours and the leaves take a lot of space in the dehydrator, so its been about 7-8 days to dry out...
Comon Kev,
You know as well as we all do that once you add the water and fish it all goes downhill.
There's tons you can do with models and mirrors now-a-days.
Just wanted to add here, in case you go the Krylon route.
The cause of problems with paint insn't the paint itself, its the VOCs the paint gives off while curing.
Technically you can use any spraypaint, it just has to fully cure and that's usually where concerns are.

Base is going to start as a phyto/zooplankton suspension with freeze dried cyclops and rotifiers, then we work up from there.
Ran some nutritional profiles on various seaweeds and I can incorporate 3 types (Alaria/Wakami, Chondrus Crispus, Laminaria) to cover the majority of the needs of the...
Unsure. RIght now its about getting it done.
I'm using AB+, and some frozen, and the occasional flake or pellet for variety, and the occasional seaweed sheet, occasional reef roid type mix, etc...
Just want one thing I can drop in the tank that covers all bases.
I'd like to say its because I'm...
I do have a few professional (related) degrees, one of which is nutrition (though used as much as a square hockey puck).
In the frustration over buying multiple foods, and the delving into the occasional making my own, I figured I'd try to come up with a food I could freeze dry (I have the...
Have used Fusion many times in the past. My previous sump on my 90g had fusion painted parts in it for years. Never flaked, never caused a porblem that I was aware of.
Heres my redundancy system / failsafe (ha!) method for protection…
Instead of a 200-250w in my current system I have 2x 150w.
#1 is connected to an Inkbird controller.
Controller is set to 78, as is the heater itself.
#2 is in sump, also set at 78.
So…
If #1 tries to stick ‘on’ it has the...
