February Meeting - Saturday the 21st in Jackson, NJ

BOBBY LLLLLLLAAAAMMMMMMAAA! Dude! It is so great to see your face around here again. Now where's that Tale of the Tank thread?! While RedFishBlueFish has summed it up rather well... The meetings are usually a few hours of eating, chatting, staring at fish tanks, lots of reef talk. Afterwards...

February Meeting - Saturday the 21st in Jackson, NJ

The crowd is usually pretty mixed. A few young whipper snappers and a few old farts and most somewhere in between! LOL.

    EARTHQUAKE!!!

It was funny because around that time here there were salt trucks going through (!?) before snow even started and it was startling. Probably not as startling as the earth moving. Did you actually FEEEEL it? Or just hear about it? Did the water jiggle?

    Evaporation

Opening the cabinet should actually encourage evap. By keeping them closed you should see less evap because the ambiant humidity of the cabinet would be higher and not take up as much water. At least that's how it works here.

    Newbie: tank cleaning question

If you are getting a white film it sounds like your Calcium is precipitating out of the water. What is your maintenance/dosing schedule? What are your parameters?

    February Meeting Frags

You can just snap it. It will take a bit more work to shape it that way, but it can be done. If you want to keep that perfect rounded edge (that will come back regardless) then you may want to dremel.

    Need Help.....

I wonder if you could get them up to Dr. Jim? I stink at "fixing" sick fish, sadly. I wish I could help. I do have a 150g stock tank if you want to get them out of your tank and treat them (I'd start with velvet since that is a notoriously fast killer).

Brian's 225g Monstrosity is Now 180 gallons of FUN!

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity! It's always something, isn't it? You need to tape a quarter to the front of the glass. That would make the perspective JUMP out at ya!

    dog foods

Wellness Core for a 75-80# would require 2.75-3.25 cups of food per day. I can't imagine how much beneful that would take!

    Experience Wanted

    How about a turf scrubber?!

    dog foods

Well it was puppy food too. Not sure how much of the cup count was because it was fillllller or because it was puppy food. I'd have to compare against a bag of the adult formula. Actually I'm not sure she ever ate that much. There was always food left in her bowl.

    dog foods

My 35# dog no longer needs 4-5 cups of food but with the Wellness Core only needs 1.75. That's a HUGE difference. I wonder if that lesser bulk will take some getting used to for her?! I mixed her dog food tonight 1/2 & 1/2 with the new stuff... before reading the directions. So more like 1/2...

    February Meeting Frags

Wendy, if you need someone to hold your hand while you frag that baby let me know and I'll be there with gloves on (and dremel in hand if ya need)!

    For the Southern NJ Reefers

Bring them to some meetings... then they'll have tank envy! Yeah I thought it was ironic that this would come up just after you approached me about it!

    For the Southern NJ Reefers

Awwwwww. They're so cute when they're that size. And then in a blink of an eye... poof. They're 9 years old. Crazy. Good luck with your end of year goals! :)
