Zoopoo was my guess as well. The stretched stems look like zoas desparate to get more light though, and I'm guessing that's what Ed is referring to rather than the poo strands.

We use multiple timers (or an Aquacontroller III or JR).

I would NOT use a coralife timer/strip. There have been too many fires with those for me to feel comfortable. I use a regular timer from Home Depot.
