Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It all depends on what you want to keep. I keep no tops on my 180, just egg crate covering the back where it is open. On our 65 we have glass because we have an eel that would be a carpet surfer given the opportunity. The more likely your inhabitants are to escape the greater the need to...
You're not going to get a species ID on a hitchhiker crab. There are WAY too many possibilities and not nearly enough time! Generally speaking there is a limited list of the types of crabs that you WANT in your tank. Some of those would be acro crabs (common hitchhiker in acros), emerald crabs...
We did the same thing when we replaced our 120, Wendy. We put the new tank in the same spot as the old. We took the tank contents and loaded them into the stock tank (and our frag tanks) with their existing water, emptied the tank, moved the old one out, the new one in and reloaded the tank. All...
Welcome to the club! We've gotten your application and subscription. I'd imagine that you'll see the payment cleared quickly from Paypal. Sometimes the payments go out as e-checks and they can take 2-3 weeks that way. Your tank is very nice! Good luck with it.
Well I guess the good news is that you don't think it is dinos. Those are tough. Sure would be good to see what you're dealing with. Guessing blind is tough! Let us know when you figure it all out.
I'd turn everything off for 2 days and blanket the tank. Total Darkness. Then turn on the actinics for about 6 hours a day after that. After changing the carbon I'd replace the purigen & phosguard with fresh, unless you know somthing I don't.
But (much to your annoyance, I'm sure...) I think...
It isn't impossible to get rid of. BillyR fought it off too. For him, we thought it was probably the increase in his lighting that kicked it off (he had previously used the same 400w bulbs and ballasts, but had added Luminarc reflectors to the setup). He believed that was enough extra light to...
You could still put starboard down. I don't think Billy put anything on the bottom (well zoas and ricordia eventually). You could go either way.
I don't think a TV would look as good in that spot!
Sorry about the loss of your fishies. :-(
