Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We never went down the automted 2 part direction, but LOTS of folks have great success with it. I would strongly consider that route first. Adding a Ca reator causes a chain reaction of other necessities (kalk reactor, low ph, ...) that you may want to delay.
If I was going to choose between a...
Hey Mike! Just wanted to wish you a big ol' Happy Birthday from the NJRC Crew! Thanks for giving so much of yourself to the club and community. ;D
Thought this would just slip by quietly, huh? HA!
Filter socks on the drain lines would help get the solids out of the tank. Then just do a nice sized water change as soon as you can. Good luck. At least it says non-toxic. I guess that doesn't mean it isn't bad for your tank, but it at least gives the glimmer of hope. Keep us posted.
Ziplock...
Your tank looks great!
As a side note...does that 'nem inflate much bigger than that? That clown looks too big for it. If that is the typical size differential, it will likely end in the 'nems demise.
I would only run 2 if you had plans to run both media. Many reefers run one, the other or both. It is really up to you and what you keep. If you keep a mixed reef with easy SPS, leathers, zoas, LPS then you would NEED to run carbon to keep the toxic warfare in check. If you're going to run a...
You can use a MJ404 for one PO4 reactor or a 606 to feed two (in you want to run carbon in one and PO4 media in the other). For media I'd use the club stock. Check with Phil Gordemer to move some to the meeting at the end of the month for you if you're not in the south.
If you have a dedicated pH controller with your setup, then you may as well use that and use the AC3 to monitor the tank pH. That works out better (until you get a second pH probe for your AC3).
As for the ATO, I like to run the ATO on the AC3 allowing it to run once every 4-6 hours so that it...
I hope they're tank raised. The situations in the oceans on these are getting REALLY bad. Please be sure to request only tank bread species when you ask to try to drive the suppliers in the right direction.
But please bear in mind that TOOO much of a good thing... is just too much. If you add too much of any of those foods they will quickly foul your water and cause unwanted nutrient spikes. So use with caution. It is a delicate balance we seek to acheive. Good luck.
