The evening light there is horrible. It is all backlighting because the sun sets directly behind the balloon field. Much better THERE in the AM.

It all depends on your nutrient levels. I would never add nutrients to a tank in hopes of growing my macro algae though! If you don't have a nitrate or phosphate issue you may not be able to grow it. How long are you lighting it? I would light grape caulerpa 24/7. That stuff likes a lot of light.

For our tank with the eel and other non-reef safe fish, I tend to buy a bunch of snails, put them in and watch them slowly get eaten until I buy them again. I can't be without a CUC (I've seen the result of that), but they sure don't last too long. Glad we're having a group buy on invert next...
