You can run a filter to help clear the water, if you have or can borrow a canister or HOB filter run that with some floss and your water will clear in no time, or if you have a sump put a filter sock on the drain, either way that will help to clear the water.

Everyone that has/is having problems with sand beds should state what sand they used/using. Home depot, caribsea or other,
I'm very curious to see. Awhile back people where blaming tank crashes on the sand beds but never said what sand they used (around the time southdown, yardright and castle...
A wise man once said "show me a bare bottom ocean and I'll do a bare bottom tank" I personally like a 2-3" sand bed, both sand and bare bottoms have pro's and con's. I say the tank is in your house so do what you like best. It's not that hard keeping the sand bed clean if you have the right...
I personally don't like over-driving bulbs but that's me, some con's, the bulbs will not last as long, costs more for the ballasts and over time(bulbs should be changed between 6 and 8 months when overdriven) higher electric and heat. You really don't gain all that much if you compair the pros...
Renee,
how long ago did you get them? If it has a flat reflector it's the old model, if they are bent to wrap each bulb it is considered individual reflectors, sunlight supply is the same way for the Tek lights, 1 reflector bent to wrap each bulb.
It's only the current usa fixtures, don't know what good contacting UVI will do, if you bought the fixture the warranty would be through current USA and that's who you should contact. It has to do with the sockets and the bulb being a little smaller than other bulbs.
Faith got a letter from Current usa advising her of the issue. I think she's going to contact phyl to see if the letter can be posted as a sticky somewhere on NJRC so everyone knows.
The new nova's are better than before, they are now using advance ballasts and have individual reflectors. But do NOT use UVI bulbs, current usa will void the warranty if they find you are using them, there's a problem with them shorting out cause they are a little shorter than other bulb...
Bill,
I'm going to be switching to H2ocean salt once I finish what I have, it's a little cheaper than TMP (not much) but I'm hearing really good things about it. The numbers appear to be a little better than TM also. You may want to consider switching to it if TM is unavailable.
He said one that wouldn't empty his wallet...LOL
SirFragalot, look into the coralife or octopus skimmers both are decent and wont hurt your wallet to much.
Great Job Wendy it looks awesome, I bet it feels good to have room in the tank again and to be done with the transfer, now sit back have a glass a wine and enjoy ;D
