Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I'll try to get some photos later, but basically the overflow goes into the refug which is acrylic and about 6-7g I'm guessing, then from there it goes into the 5g glass sump and is pumped back up to the tank.. so it has a seperate refug and sump. I plan to have a shallow sand bed in the tank...
I picked up my used oceanic 30g cube today, it included a CPR overflow and a 5g sump and 5-7g (will measure seller wasn't sure) acrylic drilled sump (I think it must be something brand name but no idea what so I'll post photos so you guys can help me ID it later)... anyways he included the sand...
:'( we won't be able to make it after all... since getting the tank didn't work out today Craig would rather go check out cars ::) (my lease is almost up)& then take a trip to find a PF Changs (which we've been craving since we moved to NJ)
Brian let me know the next time you're trimming back...
I've been nothing short of shocked in the past when I first got LED's to see all the creepy crawly/swimmy critters in there... made me very glad I always use gloves LOL also interesting to see different hitchhikers that you might not even know you have.
BLKTANG is your NJ one, and if you're a member over on reefcentral.com then your "name" over there is what you'd fill out :)
Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself (new to NJ in Dec)
Hi Bill
No that won't work out (the seller hasn't been to ILC and wanted to check it out, it doesn't open till 10am so I'm sure he won't want to meet earlier). Thanks anyways though, I'll just plan on making the trip down on Sunday :)

Aaron had something come up and isn't going to be able to assist me, sent a pm to Bill... but if anyone else might be able to get it for me (11:30 at ILC on Saturday) please let me know :)
Thanks
Brian: are any of those the ones you're trimming back at the meeting? ;)
Rev: actually before my 50g went reef I just had 2 fluorescent bulbs over it and had some shrooms, xenia, gsp, and antheia all doing surprisingly well (came on some LR I got, I didn't intentially go get them to test).I...
I'm coming too, if even just to pay my membership dues, say hi to everyone, and pick up the tank Aaron is being kind enough to bring up this way for me. Will have my husband & 3 yr old with me (although he's a grump and can't promise he'll even get out of the car)

My 30g cube will be FOWLR, and just has the 20" standard fluorescent strip light that comes stock with the tanks, the most I'd do is add another pending what type of bulb I go with and how I like the spectrum on my puffer... that said I was wondering if there were any types of macro that might...
The 30g cube setup I'm getting this weekend has a CPR overflow which is plumbed to a 5g refug & 7g sump. The previous owner was using a rio 1100 (didn't want high flow because it was a seahorse tank). I'm not looking for high flow either, however I'm only using it on this system for a short...
I know I've personally gotten a cup here or there when seeding a new tank from people I know, however I know many people don't like to do this as it's the biodiversity of the negative variety they are worried about bringing into their own tanks. With corals or LR you can always dip or treat, but...
That's very true, and don't feel bad about all the hours you will sit there just staring at the tank when it holds nothing more then water/sand/lr (because it could be worse, I remember staring at nothing but water & sand in my aquapod back before I got my LR... don't know what on earth I...
Now you're in for it Wendy LOL I just checked google maps and you're 40mins from me (I'm in Port Monmouth). If you think building with dogs around was hard wait until I bring my "mama I want to help" 3 yr old hehee But in all seriousness I would jump at the opportunity... my current tank is only...
she means dry base rock... great way to save lots of money especially if you're filling up a very large tank as the bottom pieces will likely not even be seen.
If you think you want to go this way I can not recommend www.marcorocks.com enough, I heard about them on RC and nano-reef.com and...
Oh the jealousy LOL I can't even imagine trying to make something like that, let alone having it come out 1/100th as nicely as yours did. Then again the only tools we own are are electric drill, few screwdrivers, and a hammer... and only because I bought them (my husband is not DIY at all)...
