Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
And I thought you were going to be the first club member to try Ken Nedimyer's hanging coral methods. He had found that hanging corals grew faster then ones that were mounted:
This is the method he now uses in his coral nursery in FLA.
Pete, looking good. I like that appearance of the corals floating in the tank…..or, a still shot of them raining down. So how are you doing that…..with monofilament (ala Ken Nedimyer)? Are you giving Ken’s system of suspended corals for maximum growth a test run in your tank?
Welcome Elfrida Ross. You've found a great resource in learning about the hobby and asking questions, that I'm sure you will have. Since it appears that you are new to saltwater, I would not recommend going "big," with your first tank. Yes, water parameters are a touch more stable, but I...
Hold up Matt. First take a look at what I did on the DIY skimmate locker I made.....HERE. I simply used quick-connect elbows with some clear tubing to make a "sight tube."
Note, this is in "Open Water," so nothing to do with our tanks.
A couple of the bulbs went out in the dashboard of my truck. So I looked into replacing the bulbs....six in all...and found that the conventional bulbs would cost around $30. By the way, they recommend changing all bulbs...
Thanks for the leads.....but I think the next time I have on my stretch pants and extra small shirt showing my belly, I'll first check out Walmart. I've gotten some nice containers from them. Also, we don't have a Container Store close by in central NJ....only in Paramus and Cherry. If...
I too have shoot knees. I've had both operated on about six years ago....but they are still on the way out. I'm pretty sure what you had injected was hyaluroran (rooster comb material), that typically requires 3 to 5 visits. It works well but only last between 6 months to a year, dependent...
My guess is a byssal opening issue. HERE’s a great video that explains why clams die. The Squamosa have a byssal opening that “can vary in size and tends to decrease as the clam grows, probably because the clam tends to become bottom-heavy with age and doesn't need to attach as strongly to...
If you find one that will fit that little motor, please let me know. This actually was my thought as well.....a tapered rollerbearing...or even a tapered ballbearing....I think either one would work.....if they existed that small!
You are correct, when used as intended. A number of these ceramic bearing have ABEC 8 grading....very high quality. Please read the above post...and you will see that people who installed ABEC 8 ceramic bearings had noise problems. The problem is that they are taking a bearing designed for...
