I'm thinking of using one in my new build. I like the feeding mode and also the fact that it has a "soft" start where the pump gradually comes up to speed.
Not dumb at all I asked the same thing at macna. It plugs directly into a normal wall socket. It comes with a transformer that looks kinda like the "box" on most laptop charging cords, this is where the AC is converted to DC. You can see if in this picture.
Jonathan take a look into the water blaster pumps. They are pretty nice. You can also take a look at the diablo dc pumps. They are adjustable and don't use too much energy.
Thanks Jose! After a lot of back and forth I have decided to paint the stand. What color? Still not sure. I'm debating either a high gloss black or high gloss white. I'm leaning more towards the black at the moment.
Got the doors and stand sanded and ready for paint today.
Here's a picture of the doors. Couldn't get a good picture of the stand because of how it was situated in the shop.
Doors should be mounted tomorrow and then I will bring the stand back to my shop for paint.
Excellent point Paul! Thank you. This is always why I ask even if I think I have the right answer. Always good to have a fresh set of eyes take a look. Thanks again Paul
Here is my plan to mount the light rails. I plan to install 2 vertical 2x4's inside the stand. Here's a picture that shows what I'm talking about.
I plan to use these 2x4's to anchor the light rails to. I will either bolt or use lag screws to attach them. I think this should be sufficient...
Have you tested the SG of the water you're getting from trop? I would test every time you get a new batch incase there are any inconsistencies. Might not be a bad idea to buy a small thing of salt so that you can adjust it when necessary. This will be important when you start doing water...
I don't remember off the top of my head the types if wood but ill look at the receipts tomorrow to try to figure it out and also look into the stain sealer. Thanks Paul.
Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll take a deeper look into some stains. Only issue that may arise is that the wood for the top, stand skin and doors are different. I guess I'll have to test some stains on some scraps and see how different they may look.
Not a bad idea. I think I'm trying to stay a little more on the "modern" look side of things. I'm looking around the Internet now for some ideas. Anyone have any thoughts?
Yea it's definitely a huge help. It's also very convenient since its only about a mile from my house. The stand is there now and will be there until the doors are mounted and it is ready for paint. Then it's back to the shop I work out of for paint. I'm still deciding what I'm going to do...
