Yep yep! I think you can just add the LR w/coral attached in if the tank has cycled. The movement of the old LR from the established tank should not suffer too much in the switch. But I personally have never done a move - so others can comment!

welcome to NJRC. My personal take is a UV is an optional piece of equipment for a tank. Though I can see how they may be helpful to counter-act one part of the ich life cycle. Still - if I had X amount of dollars to spend, I'd spend it on upgrading to a better HOB skimmer instead of the UV.

from a cost perspective - i believe CB specimens are more expensive than WC...so this is a great opportunity to do something about sustainable husbandry via your wallet! ;)

After the new tank has cycled, and you have your old rock that is already cured, I don't see why you can't just add all of it right away. Maybe I'm mis-reading the question/situation? I would not want to add my old/lr with coral to a new tank that is still cycling.

Not trying to dissuade you from attempting the move...but two things to pause/consider: exposure to oxygen will be detrimental to the anaerobic bacteria. Just by moving it you are bound to expose the bacteria to oxygen. You will also likely trap some aerobic bacteria in the bottom of the new...

i'd get rid of the sand...unless it has fauna in there that you want to keep (like amphipods/worms/micro stars). Most people do not have that kind of fauna unless your sand is more the crushed coral kind... Anyways - for the size tank - (15 gallons or even the 29) - I'd only put enough sand in...

what kind of powerheads do you have in the tank? it's possible it moved overnight and got caught in the intake...possibly getting shred.

I personally haven't used any since I never really had any frags in my tank...I picked up some corals from fellow reefers way back when that were already set on LR so just added that to my tank. I don't even know how to frag a coral...something I'm sure I'll learn soon enough with this club...

the remora has a good rep as a hob skimmer from aqua-c. I've personally never used one though. Good luck!
