Greg - Is the tank 1 foot deep as in up down depth? or 1 foot front to back?

    Eva's 90 gal baby

Yep yep! I think you can just add the LR w/coral attached in if the tank has cycled. The movement of the old LR from the established tank should not suffer too much in the switch. But I personally have never done a move - so others can comment!

I'd go with 3 110 watt UV (aka URI) VHOs...the third being the actinic one. Go with 48" in a fixture or 46.5 if you do the retro end-cap. The beauty behind these bulbs is that they have a built-in reflector in the bulb itself...one less item to worry about! You may even be able to get away with...

Are we doing quotes from that movie?....man that was a great movie... "oooooooooooh fudge!" (except ralphie didn't say fudge...LOL!). I know I am probably the only one here - but I really like that firefish! Mine always preferred the carpet... :-\ :'( My one quick soap-box semi-flame...

    phosban order

ahhh...when i read dave's post - it did seem like he was specifically asking about phosban. I just didn't think we had a group buy just for that product. Good to know tho!

    phosban order

wouldn't you just put it as an order with premium aquatics...which I *think* was the last dry goods group buy order.

    3/4"glass

if you want I could move this into the DIY forum- perhaps some folks there can help chime in? Aside from that - personally - and I caveat this big time because I am sooooooo not handy - I dunno if I'd want to build my old tank - only because if I screw up the silicone work - I'd have an awful...

    180g In-Wall Reef

good luck! funny story- I had suggested someone to blast the LR with RO water a while back and the guy told me he did it - but it didn't work. I asked him how he did it and he said he loaded a turkey baster with RO water and put the baster into the tank and blasted it with RO water... ::) I...

    UV Sterilizer...

welcome to NJRC. My personal take is a UV is an optional piece of equipment for a tank. Though I can see how they may be helpful to counter-act one part of the ich life cycle. Still - if I had X amount of dollars to spend, I'd spend it on upgrading to a better HOB skimmer instead of the UV.

    Seahorse care questions

from a cost perspective - i believe CB specimens are more expensive than WC...so this is a great opportunity to do something about sustainable husbandry via your wallet! ;)

    Eva's 90 gal baby

After the new tank has cycled, and you have your old rock that is already cured, I don't see why you can't just add all of it right away. Maybe I'm mis-reading the question/situation? I would not want to add my old/lr with coral to a new tank that is still cycling.

    180g In-Wall Reef

Neogonodactylus Wennerae are the usual suspects but they are pretty small and I'd be shocked if it did any damage to the reef other than the occasional snail (though shrimp could be targets I guess). Good luck. I never was able to trap mine...I had to grab the LR the guy lived in and blast the...

    Upgrade from 40 to 72

Not trying to dissuade you from attempting the move...but two things to pause/consider: exposure to oxygen will be detrimental to the anaerobic bacteria. Just by moving it you are bound to expose the bacteria to oxygen. You will also likely trap some aerobic bacteria in the bottom of the new...

    my 29 gallon

i'd get rid of the sand...unless it has fauna in there that you want to keep (like amphipods/worms/micro stars). Most people do not have that kind of fauna unless your sand is more the crushed coral kind... Anyways - for the size tank - (15 gallons or even the 29) - I'd only put enough sand in...

what kind of powerheads do you have in the tank? it's possible it moved overnight and got caught in the intake...possibly getting shred.

I personally haven't used any since I never really had any frags in my tank...I picked up some corals from fellow reefers way back when that were already set on LR so just added that to my tank. I don't even know how to frag a coral...something I'm sure I'll learn soon enough with this club...
