    DIY Nano Cube Stand

Glad I could talk you into doing it the right way Paul. :p At least my questions are making you teach me new things I would never have thought of on my own, haha. Since you're being my wood shop teacher, I'd like to ask your opinion on something about my new stand & side cabinet build I'm...

Is your membership subscription current? Election voting depends on it!

Bob, we won't know that for sure until after 4/3/13 I suppose. Most likely your's should be ok. We will be checking on this much more closely in the future so we'll let you know if there is an issue.

    Water testing Kiosk

Very interesting. If it's proven to be accurate, I'd be willing to give it a shot if my LFS had one. Next time I'm at Aquarium Center, I'll ask Dom if he's heard of it.

Another update. Even though we are delaying the downgrades until after the PA group buy is complete, we will not be allowing those in this situation to participate in other currently running group buys unless the subscriptions are paid up to date. Anyone in this situation that attempts to...

    DIY Nano Cube Stand

Ahh, I saw the pics on my phone so I didn't notice the 4 drilled holes since the pic was small. If the controller has a mounting plate built in, then yea, it probably would have been just as easy to mount that right to the skin. But then we would have been robbed of your craftmanship! ;)

    Avast marine Ato kit

I use the same container that Ryan linked. I notched out the lock on the lid thought instead, and made an opening for my ATO pump power cord and tubing. I fill mine manually a couple times a week so being able to open and seal close the lid easily was why I did it that way.

    DIY Nano Cube Stand

Looking great so far as usual Paul! Quick question, what's your plan on holding the controller in that spot? Is it to just make it tight enough that it stays put or will you secure it from behind somehow? I'm just thinking that when you push on the buttons, you may pop it through the hole.

So what am I doing wrong?

Reading through the whole thread, I have a few comments/suggestions: 1. I agree with Pete about Cal being a bit low and the suggestion to test for Mag too. He's also correct about the relationship between Alk and Cal and that you need to keep both in check if you dose for either. 2. I'm going to...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

Dave, as Paul pointed out in his thread about the razor blades... some stainless steel can still rust (depending on the grade). I think for our purposes, aluminum is a better option if you can get it for any hardware. So stuff like those picture hangers that you cut up will be a safer option...

    Avast marine Ato kit

The pressure switch is designed to control an outlet (or send a signal to a controller if you get that version) and therefore would need a pump in a reservoir of RODI to do what you're talking about. I don't think it can control a RODI unit directly unless maybe you hooked up a pressure...

Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!! Round Two!

Going with the underdog didn't fair so well on the first round... so I went with the Hammer! I also know that my hammer has taken out it's fair share of various montis and none of them ever threatened my hammer at all.

What controller do you use & what do you control

I don't want to knock the Apex or RKE because those are both popular and excellent controllers. I'm more of a hand's on, customizer type though, so I went with the Reef Angel (RA). It's open source (Arduino) architecture allows me to customize the control of anything with a plug. The others...

    Asterinas eating my zoas

I had an outbreak of these nasty critters a while ago too. I was new to the hobby and thought, oh cool, I have starfish growing! Then started to notice my zoas disappearing and found out those were the culprits. They do reproduce incredibly fast as I had hundreds of them when all was said and...

Is your membership subscription current? Election voting depends on it!

Upon further examination of the website software, it would take considerable extra work to modify accounts that fall into the "unpaid Member who participated in the recent PA Group Buy". Singling those accounts out and creating a new account type for those would not be worth the effort for such...

    Empty boxes on home page

I just tried adding a new pic to the rotation but I can't even see that (may be an issue with image size). Not sure exactly how this this works but after the election we'll look into obtaining a new way to display those pics. Don tried all he could to figure it out and nothing seemed to work...
