Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yes, of course many of us would be willing.
I have a few that I will be happy to donate.
I think our main problem will be getting everyone together to collect them. Maybe we can just do it at monthly club meetings? We typically do them rotating from north to central to south, so if we just...
Herb, have you tried feeding your corals throughout any of this? Maybe some coral snow or some frozens floating around will help them?
I'm not sure if doing the quickie WC was that much of an issue. All you really need is a good hour or so for it to mix in good and it would have been fine...
Not necessarily. Mine gobbles up black worms (live or frozen) and also frozen blood worms. Some people even get theirs to eat frozen brine shrimp. Mine have tried it a few times and ate it... but wasn't pigging out on them.
You can try all of those, but the live black worms will definitely...
Looking great Phil. Hopefully they are doing ok after the storm.
As to the issue with the floss on the pump, maybe you could try something different... like maybe an old fish net? Just use a rubber band to secure it around the PH.
That would have bigger openings that the floss and wouldn't...
Sorry for your losses Megs, but glad to hear you are ok.
Mike, that was a close one... glad you guys are ok too!
Zippy, that was great of you to take in the neighbors. I'm sure they will appreciate your generosity.
On a side-note, since my wife is currently out of work and sitting at home...
Keep the reports coming in whenever you can gang. And don't forget to post the good news too. Sometimes that gets overlooked!
Brian, that flatworm looks nasty. You better double dip that one!
On a serious note... I'm really glad to see all our members helping each other out. Even the...
Just happy that we were able to save them. Arin was really stressed about it and I can understand why. Those fish were too nice to let die to the cold.
We also told Arin that when she gets back and is ready to rebuild the tank to give us a call. We'll clean out both tanks and start them both...
Brian, since I recently acquired a 120 tank, I'm having similar questions swimming around in my head.
My MB NAC-7 cone skimmer is rated at 130-185 gallons so it should be good enough for me I would think. Besides, I have a bio pellet reactor, GFO reactor, and a huge ball of chaeto that should...
I bought mine at Lowes
http://www.lowes.com/Search=ceramic+magnet?storeId=10151&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&N=0&newSearch=true&Ntt=ceramic+magnet
They didn't provide any info on what they were made of (neither did the mfr's website) so I googled it and 2 sources said the same thing...
Sorry, no idea on where to get gas in your area. But, retrofitting it for gas or propane sounds like a good idea if you can.
Good luck and hope everything works out.
The ones I used are ceramic magnets. They are made from iron oxide in a ceramic composite. No copper (that I know of) but still, iron isn't the best thing for a reef tank either. Paul B might disagree with that, but he's not one to agree with all the popular beliefs.
