Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I think the more important question to ask is... if there is a voltage leak in the sump, can it flow through the return line and affect the display tank?
If it can (and without losing intensity...I'm not an electrician, so I'm clueless here... anyone ever test this?) then the better option...
LOL. He's probably got a couple extra fish in the frag tank that he doesn't even know about. Just pay him a visit and bring a bucket... wait for him to go to the bathroom... you get the picture. Take Olivier along with you if you need a coach.
Hmm, I see them fine on my work computer - XP Pro, home computer - Vista Ultimate, and even on my android phone - Google Chrome. I see the pics no problem on all of them.
Don, any chance it could be a permissions based issue? Maybe since we have admin rights they show for us? Seems like just...
Those api test kits aren't the greatest.
Get yourself a Hanna Checker for phosphates. It's a digital display reading that's very accurate. No guessing involved. Make sure it's model number HI 713.
I edited a couple of spelling errors in my last post and wanted to add one more thing... but since GoIrish already ready it and Brian graciously corrected me, I decided to add another post instead of editing the last one again.
Brian is correct in that the sand we should use is made of...
First off, do not fear diatoms if you have a new tank. As Mike said, they feed off of silicates, which is found in new sand, and sometimes rock that you place in your tank. Some salt mixes also contain a small amount that contributes to this too. Once they go through their "bloom" they consume...
I got the RA + model, with a bunch of attachments (wifi, RF module for the Vortech, dimming module for my leds, and expansion module... which is required when you get more than one attachment.) If you have a basic setup and don't need all the attachments, you can get the basic RA model, but when...
Kevin, couple things I noticed that I thought was worth mentioning now, before it's too late:
1. Make sure you support all those PVC pipes. Those long horizontal runs and all the water weight in the pipes will cause stress on the bulkhead... and you don't want a problem with cracking there...
Apex really needs to remove that line from their product description. My Reef Angel controller can do all of that as well. Check out the graphic in my signature and you can see all of my current parameters that I'm monitoring. (I don't have the salinity, ORP, or a 2nd pH probe, so those show...
Josh, I'm sure just about any coral would grow if you glued it to the glass, but I'd caution against it for one simple reason... it will make cleaning your glass a nightmare.
It's a pain for me just to move my magnet frag rack whenever I do mine. I can see you bumping an sps almost every time...
Shawn, if you have them stored on another online storage that doesn't give you the IMG code, you can do it manually pretty easily.
Click on the "Insert Image" icon like you were doing before with the 5 small pics... and then choose "From URL". Paste the pics link in the address field and...
Although they look like plants, corals are not plants. In fact, they are animals so I wouldn't expect them to behave like a plant would when being pruned.
That said, I have never tested this theory to say if it's true or not.
I do know that when my hammer coral (which is an LPS, not SPS) gets...
