Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I'm a bit further south, but I just got my advanced diver certification with The Dive Shop in Cherry Hill. I'm sure you can find something much closer, but just throwing their name out there for anyone down south that's interested. Great people to deal with with very experienced dive masters...
Yea I work 2 minutes away from lumber ton Lowes and never see it when I check there (often).
I also checked Hidden Reef about 1-2 months ago and they were out of 3/4" black tubing. They did have some heavy duty kind for ponds with a spiral reinforcement built in... but that was pretty expensive.
Yea, I have a small one in the blue/orange for my nano QT tank and I'm not a big fan of the flashy colors myself. They do work just as good though.
Good find on the black tubing at HD Craig. I've been looking everywhere for 3/4" black tubing and it's been hard to find. Was that at the one...
Yea, start around 35%. I'd suggest increasing only about 5% after first week, then 10% each week after that.
Another thing that will affect this is how high off the water are the leds mounted? I'd recommend at least 12" above water level. If not that high, then I wouldn't go over 50%... ever!
Sid has been missed, that's for sure. Knowing Sid, he likely won't ask for help but he knows many of us are here if he needs it.
Don, I think we should request that he mail in his hat for the meeting raffles. That should put another one of those smiles on his face... and he can probably use...
I'm running the Apollo dimmables with a Reef Angel controller and just wanted to note you won't be disappointed. Awesome leds with great coverage.
The nondimmables are still great lights too. If your changing over from metal hallides you won't need much acclimation and don't really need the...
Craig, I recommend getting the flared ends if you're going with loc-line. It spreads the return flow out into a thin, wide stream, which as Paul stated gives good surface agitation. Also, the flared ends are very narrow (top to bottom) and therefore make it very difficult for any fish to get...
Hope so Ed! Wishing you and your family all the best.
As to Father's Day, mine turned out pretty good. I didn't get breakfast in bed or anything, but I got a nice little package of goodie snacks (peppridge farms cookies, bananas foster pudding, raisinettes, and a few other chocolate-related...
Considering that center brace between the front doors is load bearing, most people tend to cutout a door on the side of the stand to fit it in.
Check out This link at Melevsreef.com for step by step instructions for installing a custom sump this way.
Good luck and take some pics if you intend...
Ugh. It's a tough fight for even an adult to survive getting pulled under... let alone a 10 yr old kid who probably barely knows how to swim.
I don't think people realize how powerful the ocean can be and unfortunately some people find out the hard way.
Sorry, don't mean to be negative in your...
Paul, I must have gotten that idea from you a while ago, because that's pretty much what I do with my algae sheets too. Only difference is that I usually pre-cut mine into "portion" size rectangles, AND pre-cut all the strips on the outside edges. Say if you have 3" long portions, I would cut...
Ugh. Always sad to hear these stories... but it's hard to believe I'm hearing it from you Jonathan. :(
Good luck with the sale and hope to still see you guys around the forums.
Those are some nice shots Mike. I'm jealous that there are no stores like that down our way. :sorrow: That puffer is really cool too!
Flare, the hippo looks pretty healthy to me. If you're referring to the splotch marks on the facial area... that's kind of normal for hippos because they...
