Looking good Xavier. I definitely want to come see that thing in action.
Too bad you didn't order the meanwell eln-60-48P drivers instead... you could have gotten This controller for it for only $75.
You can use This one though.
After seeing that, and considering the Apollo LED's were almost double the PAR of the AI Sol's, I think I'm going to get the Apollo LED's.
Thanks for the link Jim.
Jonathan, just out of curiosity, do you have a copper band butterfly?
I'm only asking because I have about 8 different acans and one of them is not doing well lately. This past weekend, I saw my CBB nipping at the one that's not doing well. He hasn't messed with any of the other 7 that I'm...
First off, your skimmer will need 8"-10" depth for "optimal" operation. I think 10g tanks are about 12" tall, so that should be ok. I would try to design the sump baffles so you have closer to the 10" height in the skimmer section to be safe. (You can always raise the skimmer if you need to...
Wow, that is a beefy tank for sure. I bet it was heavy.
How the heck did they make it the wrong size? Wasn't it a custom order? You would think they would have measured while building it... or at least before shipping to see if it meets your dimensions.
I suggest you measure the modified...
Looks to me like thats an AGA (now know as Aqueon ) and their tanks are usually tempered only on the bottom.
This spec list concurs the bottom is tempered. Also, the description of the bow fronts says the front glass is also tempered. I don't think you would want to drill the curved glass...
I agree with Mike. A pic would answer many questions we might have that would be necessary to help give you correct advice.
Overflow boxes could be for draining water to a sump (separate tank used to hold skimmers, media reactors, live rock and/or macro algae that all play a part in...
I'm considering having a canopy built for my 75g tank also. With my "peninsula" style (view from 3 sides) display, I'm having a hard time coming up with a viable way to hang LED lights that I'm looking to buy. A canopy seems like the best alternative to hang them over a conduit-rail system to...
I know nothing about electrical work, but I'd like to stop by and see your DIY once you get it working Xavier.
Brian, nice link for the dimmer from RapidLED. It would be great if I could get one of those to control the Apollo Reef LED's that I was looking at. I'm sure it would be possible...
Paul, I'm glad you are considering keeping it but really surprised that nobody bought it yet! I agree that wanting to upgrade again down the road would have killed you after selling that beautiful tank now.
Lights seem like a good place to start looking at as a reason for your headaches. Just...
I can't take credit for that one though Phil. I heard it from someone else on these forums a while ago (I think it was Sid?) and they provided a link to where they found the idea.
It is a great idea though.
