Is a salt creep siphon possible?

That sounds more likely to me too. It could be a micro-sized leak in the silicone seam near the top, and as it drips down the corner it deposits the salt. I'd take a closer look at it Dave. Clean the salt creep with some vinegar and then check it in the morning.

Is there any way this can work? (clown/stocking Q)

Yea, I think Phil's solution could work to eventually have a pair... but there will be much bloodshed along the way. That would be hard for most people to deal with.

    Femininus Wrasse (Blue striped tamarin)

Ugh, really sorry to hear this Darren. She was a truly spectacular fish. I wonder if it was too much change in such a short time? How long did it get a chance to settle in at the LFS before you brought it home?

    RO/DI pressure problems

First a question : Do you have any check valves or any type of valve between the pressure drop areas? Maybe you have a stuck valve or maybe a pinched tube somewhere? Another possible issue: I know colder temps can cause slower rodi production. There's a way to fix that by running an extra...

    Camouflage in Action

I found the female due to the colored rings (trying not to give away a spoiler) but the other wasn't so obvious. Pretty impressive fish!

A big Thank You to NJRC

Great post / thread Audi0s. As Brandon said, when you get back in you know you will have plenty of help rebuilding.

    Corals Bleaching ?'s

John, it's possible that it could be bleaching. I know that's a powerful LED since I've been researching them. Can you try lowering the frags for a week or so to see if that helps any? If you can't lower the frag, maybe try raising the fixture a few inches? I know a lot of corals will start...

    SKimmer Help needed. Urgent.

Yea, adding a valve between the pump and the skimmer would give you more tuning ability for sure. If you do this Nate, and it's the same kind of valve (or if you think there might be some "lubrication" in the valve you get)... I'd suggest rinsing the valve in vinegar and giving a good rinse...

    SKimmer Help needed. Urgent.

3 gallons a week is a bit high for a 25g, but not incredibly high that it should cause a major salinity drop. Keep in mind that some of that 3 gallons is replacing evap too. I'd suggest double checking the new salt water before you do your next water change. You might want to make it a bit...

Store owner found guilty of illegal import practices in Canada

I was wondering why it took so long to convict too.

    SKimmer Help needed. Urgent.

When you say "so much" how many gallons per week is your ato adding to the tank? And how many gallons does your system hold? It's most likely just in need of an adjustment so there's more foam / less water being skimmed.

For Sale 4' x 4' Starphire Cube (Brick, NJ 08724)

I tried to talk the wife into letting me get it. She said no. I told her I had a saw that could cut the couch shorter, but she wasn't going for it. <shrug>

Apollo Reef LED's... anyone have them?

I looked at the last order list for the GB and they were charged 15% less than the list price... so I think they did get a discount. Thirty5 can confirm that though since he was one of those purchasers.

Apollo Reef LED's... anyone have them?

I'll get a chance to check out an AI Sol tomorrow in person, so that will help me decide. I just wish I was able to buy these during the PA Group Buy. Could have save some cash.

Apollo Reef LED's... anyone have them?

Thanks guys. Good feedback. I've been emailing Joe @ Apollo and he said they aren't making the 20k versions right now, only 15k. So mine wouldn't be as bright as yours jgraz. I'm now leaning more towards AI sol though. It should be cheaper when all is said and done. I think it'll be...

Is there any way this can work? (clown/stocking Q)

Unfortunately, he didn't get the clowns. However, if you ever end up with a pair and would like some GSP so you can have them host in the fuge... I might be able to give you some Dave. That's assuming I can peel it off the bottom of the rock it's growing on. No charge as I was planning on...

    Starting calcium reactor.

I don't have a calc reactor and therefore don't use co2, so I wouldn't even think of that aspect. I do have some paintball guns though, which is why I thought of that as a way to fill up the tanks. I guess there could be some oils involved in their fill stations, so maybe that's not the best...

    Starting calcium reactor.

I don't live up that way, but I can make a suggestion. Look around for a paintball store/shop. Most of them will fill co2 tanks. You might want to call ahead though cause not all of them do it.

    Opening a can of worms...

Awesome, thanks for all that info Phil! FWIW, my bro-in-law also just ordered one of those extension tubes, so I'll get to try that out as well.
