Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The seaweed we picked up at AO this past week had garlic included in the seaweed.
I’m too much of a newbie to say that I’ve seen some benefit. (If anything, it’s kept the werewolves and vampires away.) However, I’m of the belief that it can’t hurt, especially if you have some of those...
I guess Im aging myself. Bozo the Clown was a TV show in the 60s (or maybe 50s, I cant remember the actual years). They had buttons which were of little value. And it was commonly said, as a joke, that if you were right on something, you would win so many Bozo buttons.
Two Bozo buttons...
ReeferNets wins the prize two Bozo buttons for you ;D...Angle Halo it is:
Ed, when I first saw the picture in your post, I say, Wow, Ed really got that new lens figured out. Unfortunately, I found that same pic on CoralPedia.
The picture is not the greatest. Maybe Purple Hornets??? You would do better trying to pick it out yourself at this site:

Also realize, this site only has a handful of zoas listed.
The Glass-Holes overflow arrived today. Wooohooo!
I’m impressed. I finally see how this thing works, and supposedly is quiet. It has baffles! The other thing I like is that it is only 6 x 12 x 2 inches, and rated for 1500 gph. Won’t take up much room in the tank. Can’t wait to drill this little...
I dove off Jersey in the late 60’s and early 70’s and never saw any corals….in shallow water or deep water. Than again, you were lucky if you could see your extended hand in front of your face. If you could, you get out of the water and call all your diving buddies, proclaiming exceptional...
I’m not familiar with this product line, but I’d have problems with all this stuff in my house. Look at the names of all the products…my wife would be using that stuff on her hair thinking that is was some new shampoo.
Dave, thanks for the info. I barely remember that I was the one who posted that link to that info in another post:

I still have the problem of not having polarized anything. Maybe I’ll see if I...
Explained for the aquarist in simple terms:
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2002/chemistry.htm
or the simplist of terms, it provides calcium and carbonate for your corals to grow.
Yea, with $7.95 shipping!
I'd rather support the local guy with this slight difference in price.
With our discount, I want to say 24.06, including tax, at AO.
I must say, that membership pays for itself.
You can order up to Feb 13th.
They are coming from TB Aquatics.
Pickup shall be February 26 from at least four different locations in New Jersey…I want to say NE, NW, Central, South and maybe more places.
Take a close look at that bad boy….that is a nuclear burrito. Your stomach is the nuclear FUSION reactor. You pop that bad boy into your reactor and an hour later it goes critical, and hope you have a porcelain containment unit close by. That’s what Fusion Cuisine is all about.
Blood letting, sacrifices, burning crosses…..Oh wait, that’s my other meeting.
This one, you look at some gigantic tank…say oooh…eat some food…talk to some people about what reactors they are running….look at the big tank again…say ooooh again….talk to other people about their next gigundo...
The big difference is the PAR value…the amount of light you get from these bulbs. According to the info above, the UVL Aquablue bulb puts out 254 PAR, while the ATI Aquablue puts out 324. Big difference.
The above recommendation for the four bulb setup was to first use ATI bulbs because of...
I too considered a grounding probe after sticking my VOM in the tank and finding a few volts of stray juice buzzing about.
However, heres my understanding (and boy am I ignorant): Stray voltage without a ground produces no current. Current is what kills. Its like a bird standing on an...
To simply answer your question; yes, there are some snails (Trochus and Astraea are two that come to mind), that eat diatoms. I know some crabs do as well, but not sure about hermits though.
The other things to consider, if the tank has just finished its cycle, and there are no corals in the...
My understanding is that the dogface has that beak, and it continues to grow, like our fingernails. It needs to munch down on hard stuff to wear it down. I know snails are on its menu. Not sure about crabs. I also think they are not reef safe because they find that delectable.
