Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Well Rafal, I too am relatively new as well. Im not sure what real beer drinkers drink, but I will tell you from my observations that real NJReefers drink Yuengling Lager (with the exception of the photo people who drink some other bottled concoction.)
Whoever gets this thing has to have a meeting at their house where they are serving custom sub sandwiches. That would be great. Ill have provolone, ham and salami with everything on it, including hot peppers.
The more I think of this, the club should buy this and it should got to whomever is...
You need to bring a frag for everyone at the meeting as well as six cases of Yuengling Lager.
Only kidding….except for the Yuengling…you can drop that off at my house.
Actually bring yourself (and some food or drink item), and however many bucks you want to spend on buying tickets for the raffle.
Install a durso standpipe in your overflow. Here’s a link for a conventional durso:

Easy to built with a couple fittings from Home Depot.
If you are limited with space, you can modify the top and put in another type of durso (that I can’t find the...
But Mike, you just said it in the above post if I stay a newbie, I still win. So, Im still a newbie just like Im still 18 years old its just this damn body that is aging.
And Mike, you have to admit, I still don't know what I'm talking about.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but if there is room in the overflow, put in a durso. That should eliminate the "toilet bowl flush" you are hearing.
UNBELIEVABLE!
As a newbie everyone’s been pushing all this high-priced stuff…this reactor, that reactor, this light unit, that sump/refugium, now a controller and a chiller and $$$$$$$$$.
And to think I could have gone with the undergravel filter I have in the shed (from the 70’s), a few...
To quote Yogi, “Déjà vu all over again.” Didn’t IO have a problem about a year ago?
Two people with the same issue…I’m assuming recently purchased salt. ???
I am very suspect of ANY plastics material that comes out of China. Having worked on a joint venture in China, I could not get “clean” plastic material from them.
Otherwise, if buying cutting board material, just make sure it does not include antimicrobials. Some plastics in the food industry...
Brian, sorry! I read your original post as “I just bought this stuff, how do I use it.” I thought you already had it. Again, sorry about that. Can I take my foot out of my mouth now?
I don’t mean to sound callous, read the label!
Directions: Mix 4 capfuls (40 ml) of ReVive per gallon of clean saltwater in a bucket or other container suitable for bathing the coral. Wash coral in this mixture for a few minutes while gently swirling it or use an air stone for agitation. After...
Sounds like it might be cyano bacteria? Without seeing it, just guessing.
For starters, reduce you light period. Cyano is a photosynthesizing bacteria, so reducing the light period could help. Also increase flow by directing powerheads where you are having an outbreak. And, although your...
It’s really dependant on your sump setup. If you have too much rock / not enough flow / rock that is too small / too much crap coming down from the DT / who knows what…detritus builds up in the rock causing nitrates to rise. You could still have rock, just make sure it’s not becoming a nitrate...
